Therefore, it is said in the scriptures that because of attachment to debate, it was not created, but the truth is declared for the sake of liberation. Because of this, the teacher, in the Madhyamaka treatises, has made extremely extensive analyses through various kinds of reasoning. Know that this is not because of attachment to debate, wanting to overwhelm others, that it was not created. The declaration of the truth from the Madhyamaka treatises through the method of analysis is for the sake of liberating beings, so that they may truly and without inversion understand this Dharma-nature and thereby attain liberation. If you think that the arguments of other opponents are refuted, and that the scriptures do not prohibit it? Therefore, the entry of the scriptures is not for the sake of debate, but merely for the cessation of conceptualization, so how can it be established as a result? Although analysis is not for the sake of debate, however, if the truth is explained as it is, if other schools collapse as a result, there is no fault. If the truth is explained as it is through the method of analysis, then because of its own weakness, other schools cannot support themselves, and like darkness disappearing when light appears, they collapse on their own, and we have no fault. Therefore, it is said in the *Śataśāstra*: "This Dharma was spoken by the Tathāgatas, not for the sake of debate. But like fire burning wood, this can burn other theories." This is not the case, if this Dharma is declared for the sake of debate, then undoubtedly one will hate the faults of other schools, and will follow the rationality of one's own school, so that conceptualization will not cease. Just like this: Attachment to one's own view, and similarly, anger towards other views, this is conceptualization. Therefore, because conceptualization has not ceased, one will be bound, not liberated. Therefore, one must eliminate desire and hatred, and if one analyzes, one will quickly be liberated. Because this Dharma is not declared for the sake of debate, therefore, one must eliminate desire for one's own school, and hatred for other schools, wanting to realize the truth.

If one analyzes the nature of reality, one will quickly be liberated. As it is said in the Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning: "The great self-mastering one, free from contention, has no side. For those who have no side, how can there be another side?" Thus it is said. Similarly, if one is attached to one's own side and dislikes the side of others, one will not go to nirvana, and engaging in both will not bring peace. Thus it is said. Also, in the Sutra it is said: "If someone, hearing this Dharma, becomes attached, and hearing non-Dharma, becomes angry, because of being corrupted by pride and arrogance, controlled by pride, they experience suffering." Thus it is said. The showing of conventional arising as dependent origination.
