Please be completely delighted in fear and make this Dharma your own. If liberation is attained by abandoning everything, which is desired by all extraordinary beings, and the Blessed One also taught the same, then what is the difference between you and the non-Buddhists? The non-Buddhists merely have the thought of abandoning everything, but they do not know the method of abandoning everything, that is the difference. If someone does not know the method of abandoning everything, that is, all dharmas are empty of inherent existence, then what will he abandon? Since the non-Buddhists do not know the method of abandoning everything, the Sage (Buddha) must have considered this and said that the first Śrāmaṇa fruit is right here, the second and third are right here, and the fourth is right here. Other speakers say that the Śrāmaṇas are empty, so they must say that there is no peace other than this Dharma. Because the method of abandoning everything has been correctly taught, it should be understood that the Blessed Buddha, with unimpeded access to all wisdom, reveals the truth of things as they are. If one is omniscient, one must comprehend all things, both manifest and hidden. When the Blessed One teaches about things beyond the senses, and says, "This is exactly so, and not otherwise," what certain reason is there for this? For those who doubt the Buddha's words about extremely hidden things limited by place and time, wondering, "Is this exactly so? Or is it not?"—because the method of abandoning everything, namely emptiness of inherent existence, has been taught, which is the main purpose of life, and because it cannot be taught by other speakers, and because it can be established by the reasoning that will be spoken and explained, and cannot be changed in any other way, therefore, relying on this emptiness which has true meaning, one should also understand the other teachings of the Blessed One that reveal non-manifest things as they are, that is, in the manner of "as the Tathāgata taught, like the teachings that reveal the meaning of emptiness of inherent existence," one should only trust the Blessed One, the omniscient one. If someone asks: Doesn't the Madhyamaka Svatantrika school not accept inference? The answer is: That is only when analyzing ultimate truth.

Because there is no partiality towards self-established existence, inference is not accepted. However, when engaging in worldly language, inference is accepted based on fame. As it is said in the Prasannapadā, "Direct perception, inference, approximation, and scriptural authority are the four valid cognitions upon which the affairs of the world are understood." Secondly, unlike the Tathāgata, non-Buddhists cannot ascertain that what they say is completely correct, because they hold inverted views of the nature of what is seen. For example, when they attribute the origin of this world to Īśvara and a permanent self, etc., it contradicts what is seen and what is reasonable. Therefore, those who find it difficult to see the gross cause and effect of sentient beings and the world of containers are certainly ignorant of the nature and distinctions of extremely subtle things that are separated by vast distances of space and time. For example, just as one cannot see the full moon, one cannot see subtle things like stars. Therefore, those who, without relying on the Buddha Bhagavan who teaches the truth as it is, follow non-Buddhists out of a mere desire for liberation, being confused about the nature of seen and unseen things, will be deceived in samsara for a very long time, without end. Secondly, there are four aspects to the profound emptiness that should be heard. The first is to explain the cause of fear of emptiness: Why do those who desire liberation follow non-Buddhists with inverted views? Because they are afraid of hearing the Dharma of emptiness of inherent existence. The fear arises from fabricating a self and what belongs to self that do not exist, fearing that these will be cut off. This fear arises from being accustomed to clinging to self and what belongs to self for a very long time. Therefore, even if one has been accustomed to this for a very long time, those who, being embraced by a virtuous friend, abandon the defilement of attachment to things and go to the city of nirvana themselves are doing something very difficult. Because the mind of an impure person who is accustomed to clinging to self and what belongs to self not only cannot go to nirvana itself,
