If there is even a little non-emptiness, there will be a little emptiness. If there is not even a little non-emptiness, how can there be emptiness? If there is even a little non-empty object, then depending on it, there will be a little emptiness, and the nature of the object that is the basis of emptiness will also exist. When emptiness and selflessness are accepted as the common characteristics of all phenomena, there is no non-emptiness, because there is not even a little non-empty dharma. Since it is free from dependence on an antidote, like a garland of sky flowers, how can there be emptiness? It should be determined that emptiness does not exist. When emptiness does not exist, its basis, the object, also does not exist. Here it is said: The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, in order to liberate the beings to be tamed, taught the three doors of liberation, namely emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, which are uncommon to the non-Buddhists. Now you are saying, "If there is not even a little non-emptiness, how can there be emptiness?" Thus, you are trying to abandon emptiness, thereby cutting off the path to heaven and liberation. Is it enough for you to investigate this? Alas, alas! Because of your own meager merit, you have abandoned the peaceful and straight path to the city of Nirvana, and you consider the path to the wilderness of samsara, which is entwined by the snake of attachment to reality, to be the path of liberation. You are to be condemned by the noble ones, yet you are driven by arrogance to slander the noble ones. Like this: The Buddhas said that emptiness is the place where all views necessarily arise. Those who cling to emptiness are said to be incurable. The great king of physicians, the Buddhas, who heal all afflictive diseases, said that emptiness is the antidote that causes all extreme views of clinging to reality to necessarily arise. If foolish people cling to emptiness as true, then like a patient abandoned by a doctor, they are said to be incurable. For example, to someone, "I will not give you anything."

When saying, if one says, "Please give me that merchandise that I have nothing of." Then, just as that which has no merchandise cannot be held by any means, so too, those who manifestly cling to emptiness as something real, their manifest clinging cannot be prevented by any means. Therefore, the Sugatas, the supreme physicians who heal, have abandoned them. As it says in the Noble Heap of Jewels Sutra: "If it is not emptiness that makes all dharmas empty, but the dharmas themselves are emptiness; if it is not signlessness that makes all dharmas immeasurable, but the dharmas themselves are signless; if it is not wishlessness that makes all dharmas wishless, but the dharmas themselves are wishless, those who thus separately contemplate are said to be those who correctly and separately contemplate the dharmas of the Shravaka Madhyamaka path. Shravakas who contemplate emptiness by focusing on emptiness, I say that they are those who have greatly degenerated from this scripture. Shravakas who hold the view of self as Mount Sumeru are those who have pride in higher realization, but holding the view of emptiness is not like that. Why? Shravaka, emptiness arises from all views, Shravaka, those who only hold onto emptiness are incurable, I have said. Shravaka, for example, there is a sick person, and the doctor gives him medicine, and that medicine drives away all diseases, but that medicine remains in the stomach and does not digest, Shravaka, what do you think? Will that person be freed from that disease?" He replied, "Bhagavan, that is not possible. If that medicine drives away all diseases, but the medicine remains in the stomach and does not digest, that person will get a very serious disease." Shravaka, emptiness arises from all views, Shravaka, those who only hold onto emptiness are incurable, I have said." It is like that which was said. Also in the Ornament of Dense Array it says: "Even hearing the view of emptiness, if the views of some do not disappear, that incurable view holder is like a patient abandoned by a doctor." The commentary on the thirteenth chapter of the Root Wisdom of the Middle Way, called Examination of Actions, is complete. Chapter Ten
