Ra Trul Zhing enemy land (247a) Sentient beings and, self-death and enemies make merry and travel, internal sores are exposed, secret discussions are spread, heart words are spoken to enemies, obstacles are swayed. It is said that gods descend, it is said that demons descend. The heart is not happy, and one desires to go to an empty place. Beating the chest and fighting, licking the tongue, the heart's desire arises. This is the strife against wives. Strife against children, offspring do not prosper, and if they do, they become mad, faint, and delirious. They turn their heads and flee elsewhere, and many offspring die, which is strife against children. Strife against fields, houses, and possessions is that fields do not produce crops, and people are not at peace. In spring, insects appear, and in autumn, hail falls. Houses collapse, and roofs leak and are dilapidated. Livestock is stolen by thieves, and wild animals carry them away. Round hooves and cracked mouths die at the same time. Food and wealth cannot be enjoyed, which is internal strife. Strife against relatives and attendants is that relatives are not harmonious, and there is internal division. The strong die early, and the weak barely survive. Patrons have internal strife, and attendants become alienated. Therefore, danger and punishment come, and they do not know good from bad. There is crying, shouting, war, killing, and cutting. There are three ways for us to die: dying in the contemplation of the deity and samadhi (247b), dying in mantras during recitation and practice, and dying in the basis of practice, holding onto the objects of reliance. When meditating in samadhi, contemplating the deity, the heart is not happy, and the meditation goes astray. During meditation, subtle thoughts arise. Self-generation and front-generation, one meditates and one recites. When practicing Dharma, obstacles arise. Whether praise or blame, both soft and hard are used. Writing scriptures and composing verses, the mind has thoughts. One cannot sit still, and there is much restlessness. One's own retinue fights internally, the heart rots and is stifled. The heart is not happy, and one desires to go to an empty place. Going to cliffs and waterfalls, one desires to offer sacrifices. The mind is distracted, hesitant, and indecisive. One does not trust the instructions and doubts. If good signs appear, one is happy. If bad signs appear, one is unhappy. There is fear, anxiety, doubt, and transgression of vows. When reciting and practicing mantras, during the recitation of mantras, the mantras are too much or too little. One cannot pronounce the words clearly, and one is not skilled in reciting mantras. When reciting mantras, one does not know how to visualize.
