Actual Bodhicitta. Actual Bodhicitta. Secondly, in training the two actual Bodhicittas, namely the ultimate and the conventional, in the continuum of a single individual, it is taught in this way through the sequence of equipoise and subsequent attainment. First, training in ultimate Bodhicitta has two aspects: equipoise and subsequent attainment. Equipoise has three parts: preparation, main practice, and conclusion. For the preparation, perform the seven-branch offering in the palace of the deity. Pray to the deity and the guru. In the meditation room, sit comfortably on a cushion in the lotus position. Exhale and inhale twenty-one times. This makes the three doors of body, speech, and mind suitable as a vessel for meditation. Then, conventional Bodhicitta, distinguished by the benefits of samadhi, should be done beforehand. The main practice is: because this is the method of entering everything all at once, even if you meditate on emptiness by considering yourself and others as empty at the same time, during the preparation, apply calculation through the sequence of discriminating wisdom. It is said that this has the necessity of sprouting the seed of realization in the moisture of calm abiding. Then, first, meditate on the apprehended as being without inherent existence, as taught by: "Train in seeing all dharmas as like dreams." Thus, the nature of appearance, all of the outer and inner world, is merely an illusion of one's own mind, and there is not even a particle of something different from the mind that has ever been established. If you examine it in this way, even in the conventional sense, there is nothing that can be established as a true entity of knowledge. Think in this way. Then, meditate on the apprehender as being without inherent existence, as taught by: "Examine the nature of unborn awareness." Thus, this mind that makes the object empty as being without inherent existence, the past has ceased, the future is unborn, and the present has three parts, is without color, without shape, and there is no place to dwell in this part of the body. If you examine it, it is separated from all identification and is inherently unborn. Think in this way. Then, meditate on all dharmas as being without inherent existence, as taught by: "The antidote itself is also liberated in its own place." Thus, the body and mind all act in emptiness, and even this mind that performs the function of the antidote is not established. Because all that is knowable is included in the object and the mind, and the general mind has been examined above as being established as without inherent existence, it is inherently not established as true.

Thinking, "What will it be like?" In that instant, the mind itself is free from conceptualization, and naturally, it does not grasp onto anything in the three times of past, present, and future. Relax, clear and lucid, not controlled by sinking or excitement, and rest in that state. This is what is meant by resting the essence of the path in the state of the Alaya. That is, rest the ordinary mind in a state free from affirmation and negation. Abandon the seven aggregates of consciousness, as they are the conceptualizations of the mind. The key is not to be mixed with the conceptualizations of object and subject. Afterwards, no matter how many conceptualizations arise, look at awareness with awareness, and then relax and rest in the nature of reality. This is the actual practice of luminosity, so it should be done quickly and briefly, dividing one meditation session into multiple sessions. The length of the meditation session, including the preliminary and concluding rituals and being able to distinguish between good and bad, is the best. As it is said. Finally, release the focus, and cultivate great compassion for those who have not realized it in this way, thinking that you want them to realize the undeluded reality, and then dedicate the merit for the benefit of others. Afterwards, slowly unfold the lotus posture, and perform the seven-branch offering in the shrine room. How should one train afterwards? As it is taught by "In between sessions, act as an illusory person," afterwards, it is necessary to maintain the experience of meditation without abandoning it. Although various appearances of oneself and others, the outer world and sentient beings, appear, these are the meaning of non-existence appearing from delusion, so think that there is no difference between this and an illusory horse or ox, and abandon the clinging to the reality of all things. Oneself also appears as the essence of the five aggregates, but this is only an appearance of the aggregation of causes and conditions, and there is no person-self established with a permanent and singular nature. Think of it as an illusory person walking, coming and going, and enjoying objects. Do not be without thought, but hold it with mindfulness, and for all things that become objects of the senses, immediately look back, thinking that this is also like an illusion, like a dream. Train by relying on terminology. After observing in this way, because the meditative experience of the post-meditation is not separated from the dream-like awareness, all virtuous actions in between sessions can also be included in the path. Thus, in all activities of walking, standing, sitting, and lying down, without abandoning the experience of meditation, abide in the state of vast union. Thus it is said. All these practices, do not be defiled by clinging to reality, like space...
