For those who are thick with doubts and obstacles regarding the conduct of the holy ones, may the Great Black One, like a dark and heavy cloud, strike down with the thunderbolt of manifest action, crushing their pride. Who then could dare to harbor arrogance? Therefore, may this assembly of lotuses, which expands with the light of well-spoken words, accomplish both aims. May it be worthy as an ornament for this garden of faith, which benefits the world and brings auspiciousness, thus begins the spring of Drukpa. From the pistil of the Cloud Offering that Pleases the Protectors, in the sky before me, I invoke the glorious and wise Protector (Mahakala), who is wrathful towards demons out of compassion, whose darkness is profound, who blazes like the fire at the end of an eon, who is adorned with glorious vestments. With his four hands, he holds a betel nut, a skull cup filled with blood, a sword, and a khatvanga. His 'Ha, Ha, Hi, Hi' fills the sky, his form pervades space, he presses down on the earth with the stance of a hero, and he sits triumphantly upon a throne of piled corpses, united with the consort Caṇḍīkā.
