For the sake of happiness, one should know that the Jetsun's (a respectful title for a master) intention is like the foundation of the mandala, resembling a green sun disc on various vajra seats. Some see drawing blue lotus hearts and green stamens at the edge of the sun disc, but this is not mentioned in reliable texts of this tradition, so it is not necessary. Some do not draw the main deity's hand symbol, the vajra, but instead draw a khatvanga (a type of staff), but this is not mentioned in the upper master's texts, so it needs to be examined. The colors of the lotus petals in the direction of the Chakrasamvara mandala mentioned above are drawn according to the Jetsun's intention, and the colors of the lotus petals in the corners are as they appear in the old mandalas of India and Tibet, representing the base colors of the pillars and fences between the spokes of the mind, speech, and body wheels. In some places, the directions of the mandala are made colorful, in some places the spaces between the spokes of the mind wheel are made red, the spaces between the spokes of the speech wheel are made white, and the spaces between the spokes of the body wheel are made blue, and in some places the opposite is done, with various differences appearing. But here, Jetsun Rinpoche said that the base color of the fences and pillars is yellow, essentially blue, but to avoid the fault of color mixing, it is made yellow, which is beautiful. In response, the commentary on the Ngagchang Chokyi Gyalpo's mandala ritual says: 'The base color is yellow, essentially blue, but to avoid the fault of color mixing, it is beautiful to make it yellow.' It is best to use very black iron as the base color, as it does not cause the fault of color mixing and also fulfills the intention. In accordance with this intention, the spaces between the spokes of the three wheels, the base of the pillars, etc., and the seams of the leaves, etc., should be made of very good black iron. These are the practical methods for drawing the Chakrasamvara Krishnacharya tradition mandala with pigments. When drawing the Chakrasamvara Luipa tradition mandala with pigments, it should also be understood in this way. Here it is said: In the past, diligent study broadened wisdom, The realm of knowledge is easily understood, Before the Vajradhara master, Cherished with affection like an only child, Therefore, the profound and vast Dharma, Fills the mind with learning and practice, Who is such a virtuous one? The Sakya's Ngawang Kunga, Possessing such good fortune, The Chakrasamvara... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From the ocean of conduct, this tiny drop of practical application, I bestow upon those tormented by thirst for meaning, may you rejoice in joyful song. This is also said incidentally. This text was composed by Ngagwang Kunga Sonam Drakpa Gyaltsen Pal Zangpo, a Sakya mantra holder, for the benefit of his novice disciples, and was quickly written by the physician Sampa Donchen. May this action bring auspiciousness in the immediate and long term! Sarwa Mangalam!
