Gather barley beer, yeast, calamus, guggul, white mustard seeds, and flowers. Place the vajra and bell in front of you, and have the practitioner sit facing the mandala. Before performing the self-generation of the deity, put the middle finger into three barley beer cups, sprinkle water, and then rotate each cup clockwise three times around the mandala, reciting: 'Om, Sarva, Vighnanam, Namaḥ, Sarva, Tathagatebhyo, Vishva, Mukhebhye, Sarva, Thakham, Udgate, Spharana, Imam, Gagana, Grihne, Dam, Balim, Te, Svaha.' Then offer recompense and dispel the obstacles. After that, with a lit lamp and yeast, circle the support clockwise three times, reciting 'Sumbha,' purify with a mixture of peaceful and wrathful means, and then discard it. Next, fumigate the mandala with incense, sprinkle with white mustard seeds, and purify the obstacles wrathfully by reciting 'Om, Sarva, Vighnanam, Da, Krit, Hum, Hum.' Bathe by reciting 'Om, Sarva, Tathagata, Abhishekata, Samaya, Shriye, Hum.' Recite 'Om, Svabhava, Shuddha, Sarva, Dharma, Svabhava, Shuddho'ham.' Visualize the mandala as without inherent existence, and from emptiness, on a lotus and moon seat supported by a peacock's throne, from HRIH (Tibetan: ཧྲཱིཿ, Devanagari: ह्रीः, Romanized Sanskrit: hrīḥ, Literal meaning: Great compassion) arises red Amitabha, with hands in the meditation mudra, wearing silk upper garments and a skirt, adorned with precious jewels, seated in the vajra posture. On his forehead is OM (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Devanagari: ओ, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ, Literal meaning: Body), on his throat is AH (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Devanagari: आ, Romanized Sanskrit: āḥ, Literal meaning: Speech), and on his heart is HUM (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Mind). From the HUM emanates light, inviting all the Buddhas from their natural abodes to manifest as Amitabha. Recite: 'Om, Vajra, Samaja, Jah, Hum, Bam, Hoh.' Again, from the heart emanates light, inviting all the Buddhas from Akanishta. Recite: 'Om, Vajra, Samaja, Jah, Hum, Bam, Hoh.' On his forehead is a white wheel formed from OM, marked with OM; on his throat is a red lotus formed from AH, marked with AH; and on his heart is a blue vajra formed from HUM, marked with HUM. Again, from the heart emanates light, inviting the five families of empowerment deities and their retinues. Recite: 'Om, Vajra, Samaja, Om, Sarva, Tathagata, Abhishekata, Samaya, Shriye, Hum.' Bestow empowerment, fill the body, purify obscurations, and the remaining nectar transforms into a self-arisen deity as a crown ornament. After that, make offerings, purify through recitation and bless. Recite 'Om, Amrita, Bhava, Hri, Mandala,' adding each of the offerings from Argham to Shabdha, then strike the bell and hand drum, offering music. Desire is the Vajra Dharmakaya, conceptual thought is the Wisdom Vajrakaya, with great samadhi as the seal, I prostrate to Amitabha. Visualize what arises from offerings and praise transforming into a mandala. For each mantra arranged on the mandala, recite one hundred and eight times.
