In the sky in front, within a five-layered rainbow tent, on a precious throne of lotus, sun, and moon supported by eight great lions, the essence is the kind root guru, but the form is Padmasambhava, Zahor Ma, appearing as a sixteen-year-old youth, with a complexion that is white with a reddish hue. On his head, he wears a five-petaled lotus hat, with one face and two arms. His legs are in the vajra posture or the royal ease posture. His two eyes gaze intently into the sky. He wears a white vajra secret robe, over which is a red bodhisattva garment, over which is a blue mantra practitioner's robe, over which is a red monastic robe with golden hems, and over which is a purplish-red cloak. In his left armpit, he holds a khatvanga (khaṭvāṅga) in the form of three prongs, concealing the consort Mandarava. His right hand holds a golden five-pronged vajra at his heart, and his left hand holds a white kapala filled with nectar on the samadhi mudra, containing the vase of immortal life. Above his crown is a lotus and moon cushion, upon which are the vidyadhara Shri Singha (Śrī Siṃha), father and mother. Above that is a lotus and moon cushion, upon which are Garab Dorje, father and mother. Above that is a lotus and moon cushion, upon which are Vajrasattva, father and mother. Above that is a lotus and moon cushion, upon which are Kuntuzangpo, father and mother. Surrounding the root guru are the lineage gurus of the Victorious Ones' Mind Transmission, the vidyadhara Symbolic Transmission, the Individual Oral Transmission, the eighty-four Indian Mahasiddhas, the twenty-five Tibetan King and Subjects, the eighty siddhas of Yerpa, the one hundred and eight meditation centers of Chuwo Ri, and the Dzogchen gurus gathered like a crowd. Visualize being surrounded by immeasurable, uncertain clouds. In the halo on its right side, upon a jeweled throne supported by eight great lions and a lotus-moon cushion, sit the Buddhas of the three times, the thousand and two Buddhas of the Fortunate Aeon. Their heads have ushnishas, and their feet have wheels; they possess the thirty-two major marks and eighty minor marks of excellence. Their hands make the earth-touching and meditative mudras, and all their feet rest in the vajra posture. Around them are the eight close sons and other great vehicle bodhisattva deities, adorned with the thirteen ornaments of the enjoyment body. Visualize all the enjoyment body forms standing with their feet together. Around them are the two supreme Shravakas and the Shravaka and Pratyekabuddha deities, with round heads and bare feet, holding begging bowls, staffs, and so on, possessing peaceful and subdued appearances. Visualize all the emanation body forms abiding in a standing posture. In the halo behind them, upon a lotus and moon cushion, in a jeweled lattice pattern, are the eighty-four thousand collections of Dharma. In particular, the six hundred and sixty-four thousand tantras of the Great Perfection, written in lapis lazuli on a gold background. Written in gold on a lapis lazuli background, they emit the self-sounding sounds of the Ali Kali. Visualize the bright and dazzling book covers facing oneself, abiding in the form of Dharma Jewel scriptures. In the halo on its left side, upon a lotus, sun, moon, and corpse cushion, the chief of the dakinis, Wrathful Black Mother, Vajravarahi, Lion-faced Dakini, Space-going Dakini, Secret Wisdom Mother, and so on, are surrounded by the heroes and dakinis abiding in the twenty-four places, thirty-two countries, and eight great charnel grounds. Visualize being surrounded by the Dharma protectors and guardian deities. The male protectors face outward, performing the activity of not letting external obstacles enter within. The female protectors face inward, performing the activity of not letting internal accomplishments leak outward. Visualize these objects of refuge as a collection of body, name, and qualities, seeing with eyes of wisdom and compassion, knowing with a heart of loving-kindness, and being a great guide.
