At that time, on this karmic earth of Jambudvipa, all places, fields, charnel grounds, and so on, were possessed by gods, asuras, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, rakshasas, and so on. At that time, all of them, without exception, heard of the greatness of Matram Rudra. They knew that the king of Lanka, White Top, and the lord of the asuras, and so on, were defeated. They all had faith in subjugation and bestowal. They and their retinues took refuge in him. Their bodies became guards, their speech became obedient, and their minds became the source of joy, subjugation, and bestowal. At that time, Rudra and his retinue were unrivaled in this world.
