As it descends, solely due to the causes of death, all lives quickly perish, and this is impermanence. Samaya! Gya Gya Gya! Third, the infallibility of karmic results also has two aspects: by performing virtuous actions, one obtains the result of higher realms; by performing non-virtuous actions, suffering arises as a result. Obtaining higher realms as a result of virtuous actions also has two aspects: temporary higher realms and ultimate higher realms. First, temporary higher realms are the attainment of a particularly excellent body of gods and humans temporarily through the results of practicing the ten virtuous actions, the six perfections, the four means of attraction, and so forth. Second, ultimate higher realms are the attainment of the fruit of perfect Buddhahood through the perfect accomplishment of the three aspects—preliminary, main practice, and subsequent practice—of outer and inner secret mantras, and also the unsurpassable secret mantras. Suffering arises as a result of performing non-virtuous actions: for example, just as fruit ripens from a seed, the result of engaging in the ten non-virtuous actions, the five heinous crimes, the eight wrong views, and so forth, is that one is tormented by one's own actions. Fourth, samsara is an ocean of suffering, which has six types of suffering: it arises solely from the results of the five poisons and the three poisons. Hell beings experience the suffering of heat and cold; hungry ghosts experience the suffering of hunger and thirst; animals experience the suffering of devouring one another; gods experience the suffering of death and falling; demi-gods experience the suffering of fighting and contention; humans experience the suffering of birth, aging, sickness, and death—these are the six sufferings. Samaya! Gya Gya Gya! The ultimate, unsurpassed benefit has three aspects: the Dharmakaya, the Sambhogakaya, and the Nirmanakaya. The Dharmakaya pervades all of samsara and nirvana, and abides primordially in the great bliss of the constant wheel; the Sambhogakaya abides in the unimpeded realm of great enjoyment, unmoving in the three times; and the Nirmanakaya, possessing the two knowledges, does not abandon sentient beings in samsara, but works for the benefit of beings. This is the benefit of the ultimate, unsurpassed, great enlightenment. Samaya! Gya Gya Gya! Second, the uncommon preliminaries are six: taking refuge, generating bodhicitta, the seven-branch prayer, the meditation and recitation of Vajrasattva, offering the mandala, and Guru Yoga.

O ror! Samaya! Gya Gya Gya! Firstly, taking refuge has three aspects: outer refuge, inner refuge, and secret refuge. Firstly, outer refuge also has three aspects: Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. Secondly, inner refuge also has three aspects: Lama, Yidam, and Dakini. Thirdly, secret refuge also has three aspects: Dharmakaya, Sambhogakaya, and Nirmanakaya. Samaya! Gya Gya Gya! Secondly, generating Bodhicitta has two aspects: aspirational Bodhicitta and engaging Bodhicitta. Firstly, aspirational Bodhicitta has three aspects: aspiring for one's own benefit, aspiring for the benefit of others, and aspiring for the meaning of non-duality of self and others. Secondly, engaging Bodhicitta has four aspects: liberating those who have not been liberated, freeing those who have not been freed, causing those who have not breathed to breathe, and causing those who have not passed into complete Nirvana to pass into complete Nirvana. Samaya! Gya Gya Gya! Thirdly, the seven-branch practice has seven aspects: prostration, offering, confessing sins, rejoicing in virtue, requesting not to pass into Nirvana, urging the turning of the wheel of Dharma, and dedicating merit to Bodhi. Samaya! Gya Gya Gya! Fourthly, the Vajrasattva meditation and recitation has three aspects: meditating on the deity, reciting the mantra, and purifying obscurations by dissolving into light. Samaya! Gya Gya Gya! Fifthly, the Mandala has three aspects: the outer Mandala is the world and pure lands, the inner Mandala is precious grains and wealth, the secret Mandala is body, speech, and mind. Samaya! Gya Gya Gya! Sixthly, Guru Yoga has two aspects: classification and methods of meditation. Firstly, classification has four aspects: Lama of karmic connection from past lives, Lama of Samaya empowerment, Lama of oral instruction transmission, and Lama who fulfills broken vows. Secondly, the method of meditation has three aspects: meditating on the Lama's form, supplicating, and receiving the four empowerments. Samaya! Gya Gya Gya! Thirdly, the special preliminary practices have three points: distinguishing between Samsara and Nirvana of the body, distinguishing between Samsara and Nirvana of speech, and distinguishing between Samsara and Nirvana of mind. Firstly, distinguishing between Samsara and Nirvana of the body has three aspects: arranging the seed syllables of the six realms, burning with the fire of wisdom, and reciting the three syllables.
