Seventh, concluding by praising the greatness of obtaining the six supernormal knowledges and other powers, namely, showing the greatness of power, the greatness of joy, and the greatness of fearlessness in existence. That Bodhisattva who has obtained power, because he has obtained power over the ten powers or pure wisdom, is called possessing the mind that has obtained the supreme power, mind being wisdom. Therefore, beings are controlled by karma and afflictions, and in this life they are also led by them, having no freedom at all. In future lives, they must go wherever karma and afflictions throw them, even if they do not want to go, they have no freedom at all. Bodhisattvas subdue them with their miraculous powers and make them the freedom of the Bodhisattva himself, and by guiding them to virtue, they also make those beings obtain freedom like the Bodhisattva. This is the greatness of power. Bodhisattvas do not think of their own benefit, but are always solely delighted to benefit others, this is the greatness of joy. For example, just as a lion lives in the forest and the edge of the forest, and when it dwells and roams in caves and mountains, no wild animal fears it, so too, Bodhisattvas who have obtained the stability of autonomy, even when dwelling in the three realms of existence for the sake of beings, do not fear any demons or heretics, and have no fear of being defiled by afflictions or the fear of suffering. With extremely firm confidence, they act in this existence without fear. The explanation of the eighth chapter, the chapter on power, from the Ornament of the Great Vehicle Sutras is complete. Eighth, the chapter on the power of practice.
