具有毫无犹豫的坚定信仰,不会因琐碎的因素而动摇,是究竟的信仰,具备迅速获得加持的全部条件。对于成就无上菩提具有毫不退缩的强大决心。以不拖延和不懈怠的精进誓愿为基础,容易产生证悟。因具有明辨深奥道理的清晰智慧,能够避免谬误。由于对食物、衣物等世俗享乐的执着已经消除,断除了今生的牵绊。对上师和本尊怀有全心全意的虔诚,因此自然而然地获得加持。对于密宗的道路,已经断除了怀疑的束缚,因此能够进入深奥的修行。不沉溺于贪嗔等庸俗的分别念,因此内心稳定而不散乱。具备不违背根本和支分誓言的戒律。具有在修习和实证真理时不感到厌倦的精进。因此,具备这些功德的人,才被认为是这个深奥道路的法器。因此,应当选择具备这些特征的人作为传法的对象。具备这些特征的弟子,应当在何处修行呢?在《虚空光明》中说:“雪山之中,空旷山谷,山顶,墓地等,极其寂静,清澈高远之处,是有缘者修习之处。”因此,修行的地点应当是自然吉祥,行人稀少,喧嚣较少的地方。没有盗贼等恐惧,地水相宜,禅定自然增长的地方。应当在何时修行呢?其中说:“夏末秋初,冬末春初之时,是最佳时节。”因此,在这些时候,凉热适中,昏沉和掉举的因素较少,容易生起现前的智慧,容易认识自性。应当依止什么样的道友呢?其中说:“具有清净誓言,具有清净的显现,五毒微弱,心智坚定,心胸宽广,有耐心和慈爱的道友。”因此,应当依止具有甚深道修持经验的人,或者,即使没有,也应当依止具有寂静调柔,誓言清净,具有清净显现,烦恼较少,具有慈爱心,不厌倦提供顺缘帮助的人。资具的差别是:

Having unwavering faith without hesitation, not swayed by trivial factors, it is the ultimate faith, possessing all the conditions for swiftly receiving blessings. Possessing a strong and unwavering determination to achieve unsurpassed enlightenment. Based on the vow of diligence without procrastination or laxity, it is easy to generate realization. Because of having clear wisdom to discern the profound meaning of reality, it is possible to avoid errors. Since attachment to worldly pleasures such as food and clothing has been eliminated, the entanglements of this life are severed. Having wholehearted devotion to the Lama and the deity, blessings are naturally received. For the path of Secret Mantra, the bonds of doubt have been severed, therefore one can enter into profound practice. Not indulging in ordinary thoughts such as attachment and aversion, therefore the mind is stable and not distracted. Possessing vows that do not transgress the root and branch commitments that have been undertaken. Having diligence without weariness in meditating and realizing the meaning of reality. Therefore, those who possess these qualities are said to be vessels for this profound path. Therefore, one should choose those who possess these characteristics as the object of teaching. Where should a disciple with these characteristics practice? In "Vast Expanse of Luminosity," it says: "In the snowy mountains, empty valleys, mountaintops, cemeteries, or extremely secluded, clear, and high places, are places for fortunate individuals to practice." Therefore, the place of practice should be naturally auspicious, with few travelers and little noise. It should be a place without fear of enemies or thieves, where the earth and water are suitable, and meditation naturally increases. When should one practice? It says: "The end of summer, the beginning of autumn, the end of winter, and the beginning of spring are said to be the best times." Therefore, at these times, the coolness and warmth are balanced, the causes of dullness and agitation are few, and it is easy to arise manifest wisdom and easily recognize the nature of mind. What kind of companion should one rely on? It says: "A companion with pure vows, great pure perception, weak five poisons, stable mind, broad-mindedness, patience, and loving-kindness." Therefore, one should rely on someone who has experience in the practice of the profound path, or, even if not, one should rely on someone who is peaceful and gentle, with pure vows, pure perception, few afflictions, loving-kindness, and who is not weary of providing favorable conditions for help.
