Thus it was said. Among them, although there is no difference from the perspective of the nature of reality, if we distinguish from the perspective of phenomenal terms, it is said: "The basis is the meaning of abiding; the path is the practice of yoga; the result is the ultimate accomplishment of deeds." Just like that, the basis for purifying defilements is the all-pervasive nature of reality, the essence of the Sugata; and the radiance of that very nature, combined with the defilements to be purified, the phenomena of samsara, manifests as the form of the purifying path, becoming the antidote to purifying defilements, the stages of practicing yoga; by purifying the defilements to be purified, the result of separation is attained, the qualities of the basis are manifested, and the deeds of compassion are continuous, and the effortless activities pervade everything, which is the result. In reality, although divided into basis, path, and result, the nature of reality, which is the inseparability of basis and result, does not move from anything other than the mind of enlightenment. It is said: "In short, the meaning of 'continuum' is the reality of things, which is the basis; there is no result other than the basis; where is the realization of the path that transcends the nature of the result? Therefore, what is called cause, result, and path is merely imputation." Thus it was said. Among them, the deity of the basis to be accomplished, which is relevant here, is the basis to be purified, which has become the support for the path to purify defilements. It is said: "Aggregates, elements, and sense bases, etc., are naturally uncreated, the nature of the deity." And "Thus, the nature of mind is the assembly of deities; all phenomena of existence and peace, the realm of deities, naturally pure; the play of deities, the body of deities; likewise, all other phenomena without exception, are naturally the nature of deities; therefore, it is called the basis of deities." Thus. Thus, although the basis to be purified is itself the all-pervasive, impartial nature of reality, due to the cause of being connected with adventitious defilements, the samsaric phenomena to be purified manifest as the appearance of dualistic clinging, attachment, and aversion. Therefore, the purifying path also takes the form of peaceful and wrathful appearances as the path, which are the antidotes to them, thereby eliminating the defilements to be purified. When the defilement-free basis is manifested, the name of attaining the result is established in accordance with the basis and path. It is said: "By manifesting as peaceful and wrathful forms, attachment and aversion are completely eliminated; appearing as forms for the benefit of others, the result without attainment is the best of that. This is the continuum of connection."

Sa Ja! The ground, path, and fruition are inseparable. By meditating on the path that is like the ground, one thoroughly attains such an excellent result. The compassionate activities and all other forms diligently work for the benefit of beings. To the peaceful, it manifests as peace; to the wrathful, a wrathful form; to the desirous, a form of desire; and the hateful are subdued by hatred. In short, the key to transforming appearances into the path is this: all beings, the objects to be purified, are inherently pure and abide in the nature of deities. Therefore, transforming appearances into the path means contemplating all appearances of the outer world and its inhabitants as the mandala of the basis and what is based upon it, as the Samaya-sattva. The result of purification is the Dharmakaya of all Buddhas. Therefore, transforming appearances into the path means invoking the nature of the Dharmakaya itself, the Jnanasattva, manifesting in peaceful and wrathful forms according to what needs to be tamed. The ground and the fruition have abided inseparably from the beginning. Therefore, transforming appearances into the path means dissolving the Jnanasattva into the Samaya mandala and realizing the key to the path of practicing the inseparability of Samaya and Jnana. Second, the classification of the methods of how to practice has three aspects: the object of focus, the method of practice, and the classification of the achieved fruition. First, the deity to be practiced abides within oneself, and once it encounters the conditions of the path, one gains certainty that the qualities of the fruition can arise. Therefore, regarding the fruition to be attained, its characteristic ultimate truth is supreme because it transcends the world, and its imputed conventional truth is worldly and common. In order to generate joy in the qualities of both types of attainments, one must train on the path. This is the attainment of the object of focus. As it says in the scripture "The Ultimate Activity": "The supreme attainment, whether transcendent or not, is the object of focus." Second, there are five methods of practice: the individual who practices, the place where one practices, the time when one practices, the resources upon which one relies to practice, and the manner in which one practices. First, one matures one's being through empowerment and establishes oneself on the basis of abiding by vows and commitments. To obtain attainments, one must have both complete causes and conditions on top of that. The cause is having the intention to accomplish both purposes with trust in the attainment to be practiced. The condition is being endowed with the three kinds of faith: belief, desire, and intense delight.
