Chapter Twenty-Three: Explaining the Verification of Computational Results Now, Chapter Twenty-Three explains the verification of computational results, divided into two parts: preliminary and main. First, the first part is further divided into two aspects: homage and vow. The first aspect is: Because you possess the wisdom that knows the true nature of all knowable things, which is emptiness, and the wisdom that knows all phenomena, which is the essence of various appearances, able to separately understand the laws of cause and effect without confusion. Therefore, I bow my head to the feet of the venerable Lama, who is able to show the causes and conditions for the arising of inner and outer appearances, including the results of suffering and happiness, that is, the complete acceptance and rejection of dependent origination. The second aspect is: After paying homage, what should be done? Now I vow to explain the results of calculation. The second part is also divided into two aspects: statement and explanation. The first aspect is: with three verses such as "date, vowel, planet, and star," urging to listen through a brief statement. The second part has nineteen chapters, the first chapter is to show the acceptance and rejection of dates. First is the date, etc., which has three aspects: general overview, separate explanation, and scattered results of dates. The first aspect is: The "Root Tantra of Manjushri," etc. Moreover, in other sutras and tantras, it is said that auspicious days such as the eighth, fourteenth, fifteenth, and tenth days of the waxing and waning moons are good for performing virtuous deeds. In particular, in this tantra, joy, auspiciousness, kingship, emptiness, and completeness are the elements of space, wind, fire, water, and earth. Therefore, one should perform the four activities and so on that are in accordance with each element. The two phases of the moon, with the order of generation and contraction, the waxing moon performs the activities of generation and increase, and the waning moon performs the activities of cessation and decrease are also good. The second aspect is: From "the first day seeks land reclamation" to "the life of man pervades the body of the horse," it is a collection of the acceptance and rejection of the good and bad of each date, as well as the life palace of man and horse. Thus, the method of calculating the life palace listed in this root text is the tradition of the "Garland of Jewels," and it is not known on what it is based. However, what is said in the commentary on the tantra is this: The tantra says: Running from the joint of the thumb to the crown, due to the power of the date, even at the end of the fish, it is one's own mind. Again, starting from the crown
