愿持教善者守护此众生，洞悉深奥之义，具绿鬃慧马。从近害罗睺之面得胜，奇妙功德显现百光芒。敬礼能言善辩之佛法海日。以略学各方算法之自负步伐，于名声竞技场上舞动象群。最终成就言说之狮子吼者，顶礼王族义成自在。从吉祥续释之水藏中，取出算法诀窍之白昼明灯。以论释金车引至此处，愿善说之光芒遍照十方。如是，于作供赞颂及立誓造论之前行后，此处所宣说之法，乃是吉祥胜 প্রথম 佛所说之外学分支之星算诀窍，名为《白昼明灯》之论著。如何宣说呢？如续释之意，依循自宗之行法，以及显示清净成立之宗义，如吉祥普巴派之宗风。于何时宣说呢？于游荡于村落之自以为是者，及自诩精通算术之众多人等，将行法与宗义所作之图式来源视为难以成就，仅于零星算书上用功之时，星算之实修几近衰败之当今时代。宣讲此论有三：首义、正文义、 末义。首义有三：名称义、供赞、立誓造论。首先是：印度语中：गणितोपदेश दिवाकरालोक नाम (gaṇitopadeśa divākarāloka nāma，算法教导，日光之光，名称)。藏语中：名为算法诀窍白昼明灯。之所以用梵藏两种语言标明题目，是为了让自己对梵语留下印象。其中，算法指的是续释中所说的行法和成立之宗义等，是本论的所诠释的内容。因为能以简短的语言文字表达广大的意义，并且能清晰地阐明深奥精妙的要点，所以称为诀窍。第一个词语表示太阳的轮...

May the virtuous holder of the teachings protect these beings. Possessing the wisdom of a green-maned horse, seeing the profound meaning. Victorious over the face of the Rahu of near harm, manifesting hundreds of rays of wondrous qualities. I prostrate to the sun of eloquence, the ocean of the Buddha's teachings. With the conceited steps of one who has studied methods of calculation in various directions, a herd of elephants dances in the arena of fame. The lion who roars the ultimate speech, I bow to the royal lineage of Dondrup Wangyal. From the water treasury of the glorious Tantra Commentary, extracting the essence of calculation, the daylight illuminator. Having brought the golden chariot of commentary here, may the light of good speech spread in all ten directions. Thus, after the preliminary of offering praise and vowing to compose, the Dharma to be explained here is the treatise called "Daylight Illuminator," the essence of astrology, spoken by the glorious Supreme First Buddha as a branch of external knowledge. How is it explained? According to the intention of the Tantra Commentary, in accordance with the practice of one's own school, and the doctrine of the glorious Phukpa school, which shows the pure establishment of tenets. When is it explained? In this present time when the self-proclaimed wise men wandering in villages, and the many who boast of being skilled in calculation, regard the origins of diagrams made from practice and tenets as difficult to accomplish, and only exert themselves on scattered calculation books, the practical application of astrology has almost declined. There are three aspects to explaining this: the initial meaning, the meaning of the text, and the final meaning. The initial meaning has three aspects: the meaning of the title, the offering of praise, and the vow to compose. The first is: In the Indian language: गणितोपदेश दिवाकरालोक नाम (gaṇitopadeśa divākarāloka nāma, Instruction on Calculation, Light of the Sun, Name). In Tibetan: Called the Essence of Calculation, Daylight Illuminator. The reason for writing the title in both Sanskrit and Tibetan is to leave an impression of Sanskrit on oneself.
