Even if harmful actions are performed, their nature is emptiness. As the secret says, because it is a true and correct illusory body, one should not cling to conceptual thoughts. Suchness is the appearance of one's own consciousness as an illusion, so it should be merged in this way. External pleasure, such as the union of male and female, should be merged without attachment. Internal merging is that one's own body is bliss, arising without dependence on others, so it should be merged. As the secret says, one should recognize one's own bliss and merge into it without greed or aversion. Suchness is that everything is transformed into great bliss, so it should be merged. External merging is like merging with the sky. Internal merging is knowing the nature of mind as luminosity. As the secret says, it is merging inner and outer as one. Suchness is, in the non-dual nature, awakening and practicing the path of luminosity, thereby completely cutting off ignorance and attaining Buddhahood. The three necessities of merging are: hatred is the nature of suchness. Because the manifestation of awareness is hatred, it naturally liberates without obstruction, knowing in non-duality, abiding in non-arising. Similarly, desire manifests as pleasure, and desire itself is the nature of great bliss. Because experiencing defiled pleasure, undefiled arises, and one is no longer reborn in samsara. Ignorance itself is the nature of luminosity, so when ignorance is cut off, luminosity is also uninterrupted. Ignorance has no birth or death, so luminosity also has no birth or death. Cutting off the root of ignorance, one can attain the wisdom of innate awareness. The three signs of merging are: the external sign is not associating with worldly affairs. The internal sign is that all appearances are illusory, false, and deceptive, so one does not follow them. As the secret says, the winds and bindus gathering in the central channel is a sign of blessing the kunzhi (Tibetan: ཀུན་གཞི་, Sanskrit Devanagari: āalaya, Sanskrit Romanization: ālaya, Chinese literal meaning: Alaya Consciousness). Suchness is knowing that everything is a distinction of conceptual thoughts, so understanding it in the mind. The external sign is gathering women, and dakinis do not make mudras. The internal sign is not following external women. The secret sign is that bindus gather in the central channel, giving rise to bliss-emptiness. Suchness is knowing undefiled bliss in the mind. The external sign is not following various afflictions, so abandoning ordinary sleep. The internal sign is recognizing conceptual thoughts, so abandoning the consciousness of ignorance. The secret sign is that the winds and bindus gather in the central channel, in the navel chakra, heart chakra, the center of the Dharma chakra, between the sun and moon, as the support of consciousness, on the syllable (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: hūṃ, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hum), thereby obtaining extraordinary experiences and the union of luminosity and bliss-emptiness. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Through the realization of Mahamudra, one is liberated from appearance and disappearance. Understanding this is easy. The three fruits of blending that manifest are: hatred is eliminated, and the Nirmanakaya benefits beings through impure actions, therefore hatred is Vajra. If one knows these two to be inseparable and one, the faculty is superior. If the faculty is middling, hatred is transformed, and one obtains the Nirmanakaya. Desire is bliss, and the Sambhogakaya arises as uncontaminated great bliss. The Sambhogakaya benefits beings through great bliss, therefore desire is Vajra. If one knows these two to be inseparable and one, the faculty is superior. If the faculty is middling, desire is transformed, and one obtains the Sambhogakaya. Ignorance is the root of the three poisons, therefore it is the Dharmakaya. It is like the root of the Rupakaya, therefore ignorance is Vajra. Because one does not fixate on anything, if one knows the Dharma to be inseparable, the faculty is superior. If it is not so, ignorance is transformed, and one obtains the Dharmakaya. This also contains the five complete wisdoms, so it is easy to understand. These teachings on blending were composed by the great translator king Marpa Chokyi Lodro.
