A Teaching for the Assembly of the Great Monastery Thubten Chokhor Ling, called "A Delightful Ear Ornament for All Gatherings." A Teaching for the Assembly of the Great Monastery Thubten Chokhor Ling, called "A Delightful Ear Ornament for All Gatherings." A Teaching for the Assembly of the Great Monastery Thubten Chokhor Ling, called "A Delightful Ear Ornament for All Gatherings," thus it abides. Om Swasti Siddham. Om, may there be well-being, may there be accomplishment.) To the ears of the ocean-like assembly of the Sangha, the supreme field for accumulating merit for gods, humans, and all beings. At this time, the essence of what you should keep in mind is this: In general, we have obtained a human body, entered the Dharma, cut three locks of hair, and wear the four-cornered robes. The meaning of this is that we must seize the path to liberation for ourselves and not waste the offerings of others. To do this, it is not enough to merely think that we are monks and bhikshus and know how to consume offerings. We have renounced the world for the sake of the Buddha's teachings, so we must follow the example of the Buddha and his retinue. How should we learn? We must urge ourselves on with the impermanence of death, turn away from attachment to the happiness of this life, and understand that all the happiness and wealth of the three realms are as meaningless as the rule of a kingdom in a dream. Therefore, we must sow the seeds of faith and commitment, bravely climb the steep path of hardship and diligence, and abandon quarrels, food, clothing, and idle talk. We should have nothing to think about or do other than the three lines of prayer to the Guru and maintaining the natural flow of our own mind. Therefore, we must treat the duration of practice as equal to death, and attain the supreme accomplishment in one lifetime and one body. This is the biography of the Kagyu forefathers. Nowadays, apart from not being able to fully accomplish it, we ourselves have not truly realized it. Therefore, we must pray to realize it, because that is the essence of the teachings called the "Practice Lineage Teachings." The great incarnate beings gather the Sangha through the four objects of gathering, build monasteries and so on, paint deities, build stupas, and propagate the Dharma through worldly harmony and so on. This is called the wheel of activity. It is the activity of those who have accumulated merit from the past. In hand

There is no need to necessarily enter such a state. Most upholders of the teachings perfect the three practices of hearing, thinking, and meditating for their own benefit. For the benefit of others, they illuminate the precious Buddhist teachings through the three activities of teaching, debating, and composing. This is evident in the biographies of most scholars and accomplished masters of both China and Tibet, but it is difficult to achieve, being merely an object of aspiration for future lives. Nowadays, the five degenerations are rampant, and merely holding the symbols of the Buddhist teachings, It is rare for anyone, regardless of who they are, to actually practice the Dharma as it is taught in the scriptures. However, according to the example of the Vinaya and local customs, the meaning of this great code of laws is a discipline that aligns with our own capacities. Therefore, all monks should primarily listen attentively to and contemplate the code of laws, and diligently observe the rules of conduct, such as training and behavior. If there is even the slightest deviation, there is no need to say much. Like a bird looking upwards, or a boat quickly turning its bow, if there arises a situation where monks create their own rules, then from the perspective of this life, the monastery as a whole will show signs of progress. And from the perspective of the Dharma, it will reach a point where there is no need to envy others. Therefore, keep these things firmly in mind. In essence, the Buddha's teachings are not about worldly eloquence, enjoying wealth, power, wisdom, and so on. Rather, they refer to the precious teachings of scripture and realization. The teachings of realization are maintained through practice, and the teachings of scripture are maintained through explanation. Those who maintain them are the Sangha. The method of maintaining them is the three precious trainings, which require the three practices of hearing, thinking, and meditating, and the three activities of teaching, debating, and composing. Those who are learned should be especially humble, and for those who are not learned, even if you say a lot, it is difficult to discern. So, in short, the subject matter is the three trainings, and the means of expression are the three pitakas. In terms of the Vinaya, whichever of the seven classes of individual liberation vows one has taken, one should not transgress one's own precepts, even at the cost of one's life. Moreover, since we have many monks here, in this regard, killing, engaging in unchaste conduct, taking what is not given, and lying about superior human qualities are the four root downfalls. And the thirteen remaining offenses, such as emitting semen. The thirty offenses of expiation. The ninety single offenses.
