A Clear Explanation of the Great Compassionate Secret Assembly Empowerment, Elaborated, Abridged, Added, and Subtracted. A Clear Explanation of the Great Compassionate Secret Assembly Empowerment, Elaborated, Abridged, Added, and Subtracted. A Clear Explanation of the Great Compassionate Secret Assembly Empowerment, Elaborated, Abridged, Added, and Subtracted. Complete. May all sentient beings who are fathers and mothers, pervading the realm of Dharma and the realm of space, who are deluded, confused, and ignorant, be established in the state of the Bhagavan Lokeshvara Avalokiteshvara. For that purpose, with the intention to enter the door of the ripening empowerment, the root of the Vajrayana path, and to diligently study the profound stages of the liberating path, generate a clear aspiration for the supreme Mahayana Bodhicitta. Also, listen with proper conduct for listening to the Dharma. There are two parts to this: first, generating joy in the listener, and second, explaining the actual subject matter. First, to briefly mention the history, the self-nature of the wisdom of the non-objective compassion of all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the ten directions is known as the noble Avalokiteshvara. Because the power of compassion is particularly superior to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, he is called Great Compassion. Because the body and pure lands of the Buddhas spread throughout the ocean of space, he is called the Ocean of Conquerors. Because the vajra secrets of all the Tathagatas are gathered into one, he is called the Secret Assembly. Because he transforms the boundless play of great miracles that pervade samsara and nirvana, he is called the Lord of Dance. Because he subdues the ten directions of the world through the activity of completely uprooting samsara, he is called the Lord of the World. Because he constantly gazes with compassionate eyes upon beings throughout space, especially in realms with the five degenerations, he is called Avalokiteshvara, and so on. These are the endless varieties of names that arise from the qualities of meaning, pervading all realms. This very one, at the time of the Dharmakaya of the Buddhas, is the primordial protector, the glorious Amitabha. At the time of the Sambhogakaya, he is the greatly expanded appearance of Vairochana, the great snow mountain, and the lotus lake. At the time of the Nirmanakaya, he is universally known as Avalokiteshvara, Sanskrit Romanization: lokeśvara,Meaning: Lord of the World), and the peaceful forms such as the thousand-armed and thousand-eyed, and the wrathful forms such as the glorious Hayagriva, and the Ocean of Conquerors.

And also the lords of the great secret mandala wheels such as Guhyasamaja, and those who appear as forms that tame beings according to their needs from the aspect of wisdom, such as Guhyajñana and Arya Tara, and those who bestow all desires without obstruction due to their extremely swift compassion, such as the Swift-Acting Wisdom Protector and White Jambhala, their various miraculous manifestations are like great clouds of the ocean, which will not be exhausted until samsara is exhausted, filling and pervading all realms of dharma. For those who are extremely difficult to tame due to their very limited merit, there are liberation through seeing images, liberation through reciting mantras, liberation through remembering samadhi, liberation through touching mudras, liberation through tasting samaya substances, liberation through hearing profound meanings, liberation through smelling incense, and so on. They wield power over the boundless gates of activity that are superior to other Buddhas in many ways. In particular, this land of the red-faced dark continent of Tibet, the land of snow, which the Buddhas have not trodden with their feet, is the only field of taming for this noble Avalokiteśvara. Therefore, he first created the seeds of happy migrations, and in succession, there appeared Dharma-protecting kings and ministers, accomplished and virtuous spiritual friends, and countless emanations of high, low, and intermediate beings, such as ordinary people, birds, and wild animals. Even objects such as earth, stones, mountains, rocks, water, and trees were blessed with the four liberations. In short, all supports and supported are held by the compassion of this noble Avalokiteśvara. Therefore, reciting his name, reciting his dharani mantras, accumulating merit towards him, and entering the path of maturation and liberation will also receive blessings more quickly than from other Buddhas. This arises from the interdependent connection between the land and its inhabitants. Secondly, to briefly explain the meaning and reason for this occasion. Our teacher, who possesses skillful means and great compassion, when turning the wheel of Dharma in the world, relied on the name, concepts, dharani sutras, and various profound tantras of the noble Avalokiteśvara. Those who attained siddhis were as numerous as the dust of the great earth, and there arose endless sequences of instructions and methods of practice from various accomplished masters in both Tibet and China. Among them, the most supreme is the teaching of Guru Padmasambhava, who himself manifested as the Vajra Acharya in the form of Avalokiteśvara.
