The Fifteenth Volume of the Instructions Treasury: A Concise Guide to the Six-Branched Yoga Single-Seat Practice, the Essence of the Heart Drop. The Fifteenth Volume of the Instructions Treasury. A Concise Guide to the Six-Branched Yoga Single-Seat Practice, the Essence of the Heart Drop. Herein dwells the treatise entitled "A Concise Guide to the Six-Branched Yoga Single-Seat Practice, the Essence of the Heart Drop." The immutable drop of bliss is, a clear light of diverse images, it goes as the life of all things, I bow down seeing it directly. Here, to speak briefly of the order of practicing the ultimate of all completion stages, the six-branched Vajra Yoga, in a single seat. In Jonang, the great Kunpang Chenpo had a lineage of seventeen different six-branched teachings, and he practiced them all in his heart. Among them, the Dro tradition's oral instructions are particularly outstanding. Adding the new teachings of Ritrö Zhap, the profound distinctions of the instructions and the warmth of the blessings are especially remarkable. As clearly stated in the mother and child texts of Jetsun Dolwa Gonpo's instructions, considering it as a complete experiential guide, anyone who wishes to practice it completely in a single session or a single day, should first perform the refuge, bodhicitta, Vajrasattva meditation and recitation, mandala offering, guru yoga, and coemergent self-generation, according to the length and breadth of time available. If the preliminary practices are not completed, then refuge, bodhicitta, and guru yoga are indispensable, so be sure to tame your mind with devotion. Then, make the physical posture and gaze like the actual practice of reversal. Physical action, speech, and mind, Three times of elaboration, relying on the four non-dependencies that do not depend on the habits of transference and the thoughts of clinging to leaking bliss, physical action, speech, and mind are separated from the elaboration of thoughts. When the special three separations arise in one's mind, in the common language of Dharma, it is the union of calm and insight. In the uncommon language of one's own, this is the basis for recollection, so it is important to focus half of the session on the three separations when one is not yet accustomed to it. In this way, the experience of recollection will arise spontaneously. When the actual practice of recollection begins, at night,

For dark retreat practice, if possible, do it in a dark room. If not, do it in extreme darkness. Sit in the lotus position, place your hands in fists on your thighs. Keep your spine straight, without bending forward or backward. Press your Adam's apple with your throat, and touch your tongue to the upper palate. With your eyes looking sixteen finger-widths above your eyebrows, neither fully open nor closed, gaze upwards at the pitch-black darkness. It is good if you can achieve strong focus even for a short time. First, exhale gently three times, then let your breath flow naturally. Do not think of anything in your mind, but remain in a state of non-thought. If, due to a lack of familiarity with the three retreats, the yoga of non-thought does not become the key point and you are controlled by wildness and agitation, then gather your awareness and strongly direct your consciousness towards the center of the sky through the method of gazing. If you can effortlessly maintain the present awareness without fabrication, there will be no cause for errors in meditation. Therefore, make it fundamental to settle without fabrication. If there are problems with the posture of the body, such as bending, or with the state of mind, such as wildness and agitation, even if you meditate for a long time, you will not generate signs of experience, and obstacles will increase. Therefore, from the beginning, it is very important to properly adjust the posture of body and mind and not lose balance. If you hit the key point, it will not take long for the winds to enter the central channel. As a symbol of seeing a glimpse of the nature of the Sugata-garbha, you will see smoke, mirages, the sky, and lights. This is the yoga of the night. After a short while, when there are no clouds or hail, in a place where you can see the clear and vast sky, keep your body in the shade, avoiding sunlight. Face west in the morning and east in the evening, and also avoid sunlight and snow mountains shining on your eyes. Gaze very intently, with an angry expression, at the clear blue sky without clouds, and rest your mind in the state of non-duality of clarity and emptiness. At this time, the six signs will appear: burning, the moon, the sun, the vajra, the supreme object, and bindus. The ten signs, combining the earlier and later ones, are definite signs. Due to differences in faculties, even if countless indefinite signs appear, seeing the signs of gathering, emptiness and form, is only a sign of the path. Do not discriminate between good and bad.
