Enter through the right nostril of all sentient beings. All the sufferings of all of them come back in the form of light. Enter back through your own right nostril. May the suffering of all sentient beings ripen on me. Think that all sentient beings are free from suffering. Then, your own happiness comes out of the left nostril in the form of light. By giving it to all sentient beings, think that all of them are endowed with happiness. By placing the suffering of sentient beings ripening on me on top, think that it turns into great bliss free from outflows. If you are skilled in this, you should also actually train in the mind of enlightenment of exchanging self and others. After meditating like this, in the subsequent practice, I have meditated like this, and by the power of whatever roots of virtue have been accumulated in the three times, may I and all sentient beings be liberated from the ocean of suffering, and may we attain the state of omniscient Buddhahood. After thinking like this, one should enter into the aspiration prayers of the noble Maitreya and Samantabhadra, and so on. Thus, this instruction on the order of meditation on dependent arising, called "The Bridge of the Holy Dharma," was composed by the Kagyu monk Pema Karpo for the intention of Desi Rinpoche Phagmo Drupa, the great glorious superior one. May this also cause the Buddha's teachings to flourish, increase, and remain for a long time! All auspiciousness!). Volume 10 of "Treasury of Pith Instructions," the order of meditation on dependent arising, "The Holy Dharma's Offering Cake."
