When offering a mandala in any place, after offering the mandala, body, possessions, and everything else, pray that the glorious and venerable Vajradhara may bless my body, speech, and mind. After praying in this way, white, red, and blue rays of light emanate from the crown of the head, throat, and heart of Vajradhara. They dissolve into my three places in sequence, purifying the obscurations of the three doors. Meditate that you have become fortunate enough to manifest the Vajra of body, speech, and mind. At the time of concluding the session, all the retinue dissolve into the Lama Vajradhara. That also dissolves from oneself, therefore the Lama's body, speech, and mind and one's own body, speech, and mind remain inseparable. By meditating on the Lama Yoga in this way, pride is taken as the key. The demonic influence of the sons of the gods is pacified. The arrogant are subdued. One can bless oneself and others. The wisdom of equality arises. In short, it is important to diligently practice Lama Yoga. The Lama is like a snow mountain of the four bodies. If the sun of devotion does not rise, the stream of blessings will not flow. Therefore, diligently cultivate this devotion. Thus it was said. Fourth, the Great Seal (Mahamudra) is: The way of abiding of the mind itself, untouched by the mind of samsara and nirvana. Not imputed by appearance and emptiness. Not experienced as appearance. Not experienced as emptiness. Not experienced as existence. Not experienced as non-existence. Not experienced as delusion. Free from all limitations and biases of not experiencing liberation. Not made by the Buddhas. Not decorated by sentient beings. Not purified by the path. Not changed by color. Free from all extremes. The result is the self-arisen three bodies. Complete with the qualities of abandonment and realization. Clearly possessing the two wisdoms. A thing that is spontaneously accomplished from the beginning. The reality of how things abide, that is called the fundamental Great Seal. Relying on the blessings and skillful means of the Lama, recognizing that suchness, abiding in that suchness, recognizing the original face as it is, without fabrication. Without being deluded by the mind, abiding as it is, the self-nature of the essence, thoughts naturally cease, the essence is clear and empty, nakedly, without distinguishing between good thoughts, bad thoughts, and neutral thoughts, the clarity that does not stop, not even once doing. Separated from all names and concepts, there exists such a state, that is called the Great Seal of Mind. In that state, no matter what circumstances arise, one does not abide on the edge of samsara and nirvana, but in the original state

That which arrives is the Great Seal of the Fruit. In short, it is a meaning that the lama cannot point out, the disciple cannot understand, and cannot experience. It is a great state beyond thought, free from all fabrications of 'is' and 'is not' thoughts, the natural innate state that no one has made, and that is called the Great Seal. The way to practice it is twofold: calm abiding and insight. The first has three parts: causing what is not attained to be attained, causing what is attained to be stable, and causing what is stable to be liberated. The first is: legs in the lotus posture, hands in meditative equipoise, arms extended, spine straight, neck slightly bent forward, lips natural, gaze directed at the sky in front of the tip of the nose, and the mind placed in its natural state. If it does not abide in that, as it says in the Samadhiraja Sutra: 'With a body like the color of gold, the protector of the world is beautiful in every way. Whoever places their mind on that object, that Bodhisattva is said to be in meditative equipoise.' Like that, visualize in front a clear image of the body of the perfectly complete Buddha on a lion throne, lotus, and moon seat, and without being distracted to anything else, place the mind one-pointedly. If dullness occurs, then focus the mind on the crown of the head; if excitement occurs, then focus the mind on the lotus seat. Correct the faults by adjusting the gaze up and down. If the mind is very distracted, then just focus on the breath going in and out, and by continuing that, the abiding will become stable. The second is: from the beginning of the arising of abiding, from a white lotus in the heart, arise a bindu.
