If you look again and again, you will understand that all thoughts are like water and waves. If awareness is not stolen by anything, you will understand that all dharmas are emptiness. If you understand in this way, all dharmas of samsara and nirvana, you will understand that they are just the magical manifestations of mind itself. Recollection and conceptualization are the activities of the mind, the practices of Madhyamaka, Mahamudra, and Dzogchen, have the same meaning, only different names. Do not seek solitude externally, your own body, is the palace, this unborn mind itself, is the deity and the guru, there is nothing else besides that. Ignorance, hatred, desire, pride, and jealousy, without abandoning them, they are naturally liberated, certainly they are the five families of the Victorious Ones. In short, all dharmas are only mind itself, resting in the unaltered, natural state of mind, even if thoughts arise, do not grasp, relax and rest there. Forms, sounds, smells, tastes, tactile objects, dharmas, and so on, all are liberated into the indivisibility of appearance and emptiness. Free from the extremes of existence and non-existence, without meditation, without distraction, without rejection, without acceptance. So-called meditation, in reality, is not established, just without distraction, naturally relaxing is bliss. Clear but non-conceptual, bliss and emptiness, free from elaboration, if you recognize on the naked, self-aware awareness, it is the co-emergent wisdom, the result is called Dharmakaya. Therefore, this immaculate oral transmission, the wise and fortunate ones should practice. Thus, this is just a brief introduction to the three kayas and four kayas, the details should be understood from the extensive, intermediate, and concise guidance manuals of the Kagyu lineage's past masters. This was written based on the root text of Lord Rangjung Dorje and the notes of Karma Chakme Rinpoche. To fulfill the wishes of Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, Paldan Rigkun Lhundrup Tekchok Dorje Ngedon Tenpai Nyima, who holds the blessings of the name of the Fourteenth Karmapa, wrote this during a break from engaging in profound Vajra Yoga in the meditation room of the auspiciously established hermitage in the middle of a dense forest of fragrant trees in the valley protected by the great lay practitioner Dorje Menpal, may all beings attain omniscience.
