Realization and, subtle and coarse thoughts, the arising and liberation of the three occur simultaneously. A person of middling ability realizes the non-duality of appearance and awareness, and the arising and liberation of subtle, coarse, and large thoughts occur simultaneously. If ordinary individuals do not have both body and mind residing together, then it should be examined whether subtle and coarse thoughts arise and liberate. If they do arise, then there is no reason why coarse thoughts would not arise and liberate. From the perspective of emptiness of essence, there is no difference, so if the mind is not sought within, then it should be examined whether the body remains outside. If body and mind do not reside together, then it should be examined whether external appearances arise. If everything is empty in essence, then it should be examined whether coarse thoughts, once arisen, have a place to stay, a place to go, or a place to reside. Likewise, through examination, whatever discomfort arises will simultaneously be pacified in arising and liberation, and in non-arising. The practitioner should align with their mind and diligently dismantle clinging through various methods. The object of meditation without meditation is that all appearances of the six senses arise and abide in bliss simultaneously, and that appearance dawns as meditation. In that very moment, there is no delusion. Since appearance dawns as meditation and needs to self-liberate, it is introduced through symbols: Stare intently at an object at the corner of your right eye. In the non-duality of appearance and emptiness, without any aspect of clinging to form or clinging to emptiness, abide comfortably and clearly in the non-duality of appearance and emptiness. Then, move your eyes rapidly from right to left. When looking slightly to the right, does the object on the right appear? Does the object on the left disappear? When looking slightly to the left, does the object on the left appear? Does the object on the right disappear? Having looked in this way, even if there is no clinging to form or clinging to emptiness, if there is still some sense of east and west, that is clinging, so eliminate the direct fault. Clinging to form, clinging to emptiness, and all biases are like the center of the sky, existing without being either temporary or ultimate, so forcibly eliminate the direct fault. Clinging to form, clinging to emptiness, and all biases become comfortable and peaceful, like the center of the sky. Practice in this way. In the time of non-realization, various forms appear, but in the time of realization, the essence is not established as anything. East, west, and any biases are not established, so practice each of the above targets one by one. Does the meditator exist? Does the object of meditation exist? Does the object to be practiced exist?

Is it poison? Or is it being experienced? When observing in that way, even after appearances are purified in their own place, is there an attachment to even a tiny bit of what arises in meditation? Understanding that meditation without body and mind will not arise, contemplate on form and focus slightly. By doing so, one will understand the meaning of meditation and gain stability. As for the purification of the obscuration of knowledge, although it is actually beyond mind, the obscuration of knowledge is knowing that there is a slight portion of mind and dharma. To purify it, the previous ones not only serve as the support for focus, but also enhance through repeated focus. Here, the enhancement of focus and meditation will occur. If a tiny bit of purification is needed, then enhance it with methods. Although there is nothing to be abandoned in this regard, there is a tiny bit that is transmitted through objects. Small portions of mind and dharma occasionally get transmitted. To purify it, allow thoughts of the three—virtuous, non-virtuous, and neutral—to arise. Therefore, if there is a tiny bit of concern about actions and whether meditation will progress, since the object of knowledge is not directly realized, have them focus diligently on each of the previous objects of focus. If there are no concerns about actions and whether meditation will progress, do not fabricate, guide awareness, and if it flows naturally, abide in equanimity. There is nothing to be abandoned in this regard. If the essence is nakedly present on the ground, that is subsequent wisdom. The continuous stream of thoughts from above is not acceptable; rather, it is intentionally allowed to flow naturally. By doing so, for the dependent arising aspect of awareness, the imprints of obscurations gradually loosen, becoming empty and exhausted. In reality, just as iron is exhausted and gold is exhausted, wealth is exhausted and brothers are exhausted, wealth is exhausted and conditions are exhausted. Similarly, through experience, mind is exhausted, dharma is exhausted, and awareness opens up like the center of the rootless sky. When movement ceases and there is no abiding, then if one becomes weary of practice, it is time to act. One has seized the fortress of the Dharmakaya. The two form bodies will benefit sentient beings through appearances that are without inherent existence. Alala Ho! For this, there will be individuals who will definitely manifest signs and qualities, and there will also be those who do not manifest them, so manifesting them does not make it better.
