The Essential Instructions for Ascending Transference The Essential Instructions for Ascending Transference ༈ In Sanskrit: Urdha Schyota Upadesha. In Tibetan: The Essential Instructions for Ascending Transference. Homage to the noble lamas! Other teachings of the doctrine are easy to find, but the practice of this is difficult to find. For the yogi who finds the practice, seeking results is not difficult. Even killing a Brahmin every day, committing the five inexpiable sins, and engaging in the ten non-virtuous actions, entering this path will lead to accomplishment. Just as a lotus flower emerges beautifully from the mud, so too, from bodies like mud, wisdom will arise spontaneously. The body possessing the yoga of the deity, the position of the channels is as above. Meditate on the form of A as Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽). At the lower ends of both the right and left sides, meditate on a small Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) each. Sit in vajra posture, keep the spine straight. Press the abdomen against the vertebrae. Press down the upper wind and draw in the lower wind. With the practice of "Hik," combine the three Hūṃs (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) into one and fling them upwards. Purifying, filling, lifting, and lowering, the letters of the practice are one and a half. Accomplishment can be achieved in either day or night. When placing, lower and rest. If signs of death appear, the yogi does not lower down but transfers upwards. Most beings have no autonomy and will be blocked by that path. With twenty-one breaths purified, what is called death is mere conceptualization. A rain of flowers falls, the dakinis surround. Umbrellas, victory banners, and flags are offered. They lead to the realm of the dakinis. Therefore, it is difficult to encounter these instructions. May all beings become vessels for this teaching and attain the state of Vajradhara. Transference, general bursting forth. Namo Guru. In general, the perfectly enlightened Buddhas, in order to liberate sentient beings from samsara, taught eighty-four thousand gates of Dharma. But in brief, there are two vehicles, the Great and Small. Here, it is the Great Vehicle. Among them, there are the causal vehicle and the resultant vehicle of secret mantra. This is the Great Vehicle of Secret Mantra. Among them, there are the four tantras: Kriya Tantra, Charya Tantra, Yoga Tantra, and Anuttarayoga Tantra. This is the Anuttarayoga Tantra. These are the two paths of means and liberation.

This is the path of skillful means. Among the skillful means, there are two: the generation stage and the completion stage. Here, only a brief explanation of the swift generation stage is given, but the main focus is on the completion stage. Within the completion stage, there are also two aspects: the main path and the auxiliary path. This is the auxiliary path. There are two main paths: the yoga of fierce heat (tummo), the path of liberating the upper gate, and the yoga of bliss and emptiness, the path of great bliss for the lower gate. The auxiliary paths include: transference of consciousness (phowa), entering another's body, illusory body, clear light, dream yoga, and the teachings on the bardo, six in total. This is the transference of consciousness among the auxiliary paths. Although there are many methods of transference, this is the general spontaneous accomplishment of transference, a path that is particularly superior to other key points, where signs manifestly appear. There are four key points here: the support is the key point of the body, the place is the key point of the channels, the movement is the key point of the winds, and the grasping is the key point of the mind. Therefore, when practicing this, accumulate favorable conditions in a solitary place, sit on a comfortable cushion, visualize the guru on the crown of your head, and pray intensely. Then, the key point of the supporting body is to sit in the vajra posture, place the hands in the meditation mudra below the navel, and straighten the spine like an arrow. Visualize yourself as any chosen deity. That deity does not have internal organs; visualize the body as empty. The key point of the place, the channels, is that the upper end of the central channel reaches the Brahma aperture, appearing white and clear like an open hole, sealed by a black syllable "ཁྲུཾ" (Tibetan, Devanagari: खं, Romanized Sanskrit: kham, meaning: space). Visualize the guru residing on the crown of your head, pressing down on it with the big toe of his foot. The lower end of the central channel goes below the navel, connecting to the triangular channel knot. The upper ends of the two side channels insert into the nostrils, bend down from the top of the head, and go down from the neck and chest, connecting to the opening of the central channel above the triangular channel knot below the navel. There are four key points of the moving winds: expelling, filling, lifting, and lowering. The first is: exhale forcefully through the nose three times. This prevents cold air from entering the body, thus preventing wind disorders. Filling is: visualize the three channels like pillars of an empty house, loose and soft inside the body like sheep intestines that have not been squeezed of their contents.
