The Root of the Precious Gelden Kagyu Mahamudra - The Path of the Victorious Ones. The Root of the Precious Gelden Kagyu Mahamudra - The Path of the Victorious Ones, ends here. Homage to Mahamudra). All-pervading, the nature of all things, the Great Seal. Indivisible, inexpressible, the vajra realm of the mind. Nakedly revealing, the all-encompassing lord, the master of accomplishment. To the feet of the peerless lama, I respectfully bow. Having gathered the essence of the ocean of sutras, tantras, and instructions, Skillfully explaining the Gelden Kagyu, Accomplished supreme Vajra father and sons, I write the instructions of the lineage of the Great Seal. This has three parts: preliminary, main, and concluding. First, in order to enter the teachings and the Great Vehicle, As an entrance and foundation, Not just mere words, Diligently take refuge and generate bodhicitta. Seeing the nature of the mind also, Depends on accumulating merit and purifying obscurations, Therefore, confessing downfalls with a hundred thousand recitations of the Hundred Syllable Mantra, Prostrations, etc., should be done as much as possible beforehand, Then to all the Buddhas of the three times, And the root lama, inseparable, Pray repeatedly from the depths of your heart. The main part, the Great Seal, Has many different views, Divided into two by sutra and tantra. The latter is the vajra body itself, From skillful means such as hitting the vital points, The co-emergent great bliss luminosity arises, Saraha Saraha) and Nagarjuna, Naro and Maitri's Naro Maitri) Mahamudra, Is the essence of the unsurpassed tantras, taught from the heart of accomplishment. The former, through the extensive, intermediate, and concise three, Directly teaches the method of meditating on emptiness, The noble Nagarjuna said that there is no other path to liberation than this. Here, according to his intention, Giving the instructions of the Great Seal, Explaining the method of recognizing the nature of the mind, As spoken by a lama with lineage. Co-emergent union gau ma, Five complete tastes, equality, four letters, Pacifying, Chöd, Dzogchen, And Madhyamaka's view and practice, etc., Although there are many different names, But a yogi who is skilled in the definitive meaning of scripture and reason, And has experience, If analyzed, they converge on the same intention. Therefore, here, starting from the view, Searching for meditation, starting from meditation, Searching for the view.

From the two (meditations), here is the latter way. On the cushion of meditative bliss, abide with the seven points of posture, thoroughly clear the nine rounds of breath, completely separate the essence and dross of awareness, with a pure and virtuous mind, first take refuge and generate bodhicitta, practice the profound Guru Yoga, fiercely supplicate the hundred-syllable mantra and so on, then dissolve the Guru into oneself. In that state of dim appearance, for hopes and fears and other thoughts, do not make any fabrication or adjustment, abide slightly equally without wavering. It is not like fainting and sleeping, blocking the attention, without distraction, erect the post of mindfulness, let the flowing awareness remain vigilant. On the nature of knowing and clarity, focus tightly on it, look at it nakedly. For any thought, wherever it arises, recognize it itself. Or like a hair-braider, for any thought that arises, cut it off completely. At the moment of abiding after cutting, do not lose mindfulness, release it relaxedly. Focus tightly on it, release it relaxedly, the mind abides there. As it is said, and as others have said, like the mind bound by a rope, releasing it will liberate it, without doubt. As it is said, release it without distraction. For any thought that arises, when looking at its nature, it naturally vanishes, appearing empty and clear. Similarly, when examining the moment of abiding, without obscuration, empty and clear, shimmering. It is called seeing, abiding, and moving merging, no matter what thought arises, without blocking, recognizing the movement, doing so, for its nature, abiding is like a heron in a pond, similar to the example of flying. Just like a crow flying from a boat, after circling in all directions, it returns there again. After practicing like this, the nature of samadhi, nothing can obscure, clear and bright, without forming any tangible thing, empty like the sky, shimmering because everything appears. Thus, the dharmata of mind, although seen more clearly with direct perception, cannot be pointed out and indicated as "this is it". For whatever appears, without grasping, abide relaxedly. This is the key instruction for holding the Buddha in your hand, as it is said, nowadays the great meditators of the snowy mountains, mostly proclaim with the same view. Although it is so, this way is for the initial practitioner, practicing the abiding of mind.
