I will clearly set forth the empowerment ritual of the extremely unelaborate mandala. This has two parts: the preliminary practice and the actual empowerment. First, all the masters and disciples go to a very secluded empty place, etc. Offerings, tormas, golden mandalas, etc., should be prepared. Make the Lama and Dakinis happy, and in order to show that there is no obscuration of awareness, take off all clothes or just the upper garment. In order to purify the eight aggregates of consciousness in their places, and to pacify obstacles, the armor is given: Those disciples should visualize the Lama's body as dark blue, very terrifying, with hair standing on end. Thinking that the fangs are bared and the tongue is moving, at the crown of the head, visualize Laṃ (ལཾ་,lam, lambha,to get) in yellow. At the forehead, E (ཨེ་,e,e,is) in blue. At the throat, Su (སུ་,su,su,good) in yellow. At the neck, Khaṃ in smoky color. At the two breasts, Ha in white. At the navel, Raṃ (རཾ་,ram,raṃ,fire) in red. At the soles of the two feet, Yaṃ (ཡཾ་,yam,yaṃ,wind) in green. Let them be made to think like that. Visualize that a blue Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ,hūṃ,hūṃ,Hum) emanates from the Lama's heart and goes into the disciple's heart, transforming into Hūṃ. The Lama roars \"Ha! Ha!\" and says it three times.

Oh, lying still on a comfortable bed, bring it to stillness. Having done so, the signs of experience when the body is cleaved like being cut by a sharp blade are: no attachment to the body, feeling as if there is no body, no hot or cold, no hunger or thirst, no fatigue, feeling like walking in the sky, feeling comfortable and warm, and so on. Repeat until these phenomena occur, and you will surely cleave the grossness of the body. The necessity is: to pacify the obstacles of the body, purify sins and obscurations, and be liberated into the Nirmanakaya. To become inseparable and non-dual with the Vajra immutable body of all Buddhas. Then, the activity of speech is: thinking of all one's own sounds as the words of the Lama. The various expressions of speech are: like the sounds of gods, beautiful songs and clear letters, like the sound of cymbals, and so on; the sound of nagas, like the sound of a lute, like the echo of a vase; the sound of yakshas, like the collapse of a mountain; the sound of kinnaras, like the sound of a harp and clouds; the sound of rakshasas, such as "ra la ra la ri li ri li" and so on, like the sound of thunderclouds; the sound of asuras, like the sound of peaceful thunder; the sound of hell, uttering cries of hot and cold suffering; the groaning of pretas from hunger and thirst; the weeping of animals in sorrow; and the natural sound of human birth, aging, sickness, and death. Furthermore, express all the kinds of sounds that you know. The sounds of horses, cows, sheep, goats, donkeys, jackals, tigers, leopards, vultures, owls, crows, magpies, dogs, foxes, and so on. In between making these sounds, recite many "ཕཊཿ" (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: फट्, Sanskrit Romanization: phaṭ, Chinese literal meaning: Peh!). And sounds that transform into Dharma, such as "ཧ་" (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: ह, Sanskrit Romanization: ha, Chinese literal meaning: Ha!), "ཧཱུྃ་" (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hum!), "ༀ་" (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Om!), and so on, and conclude with the sound of teaching the Dharma. By lying down without saying anything at night, you will cleave the grossness of speech. In this way, Sanskrit will arise spontaneously, many Dharmas that were previously unknown will appear spontaneously, and beautiful melodies and so on will arise. One will not desire to speak, will feel extreme happiness, and meanings that cannot be expressed will arise, and so on. Repeat until these phenomena occur. The necessity is: to pacify the obstacles of speech, purify sins and obscurations, and be liberated into the Sambhogakaya. To become inseparable from the essence of Vajra speech. Then, the activity of mind:
