Before the absence of space, the characteristic of space was never there. Before the absence of Dharma-nature, the name of things characterized by Dharma was not even there. Before the absence of Buddhas, the name of sentient beings was never there. Before the absence of Nirvana, the activity of Samsara was never there. Therefore, of all the Buddhas, the supreme lord is me. I am greater than the five elements. I came before the elements. I manifested before the Buddhas. I am the body of true bliss. In my state, everything is complete. Thus it is said. From the Kunje Gyalpo Tantra: The heart essence of spontaneously accomplished, vast Dharma-nature, does not move, will not move, will not change into moving. The space of Dharma-nature, in which all appearances, existence, vessel, and essence are gathered. Spontaneously accomplished, free from all actions and activities. Thus it is said. To give an example of gathering everything without moving: Because everything, Samantabhadra, is spontaneously accomplished and appears as one, all without exception are gathered, the supreme one without rival. The greatest of the great, Samantabhadra, the realm of Dharma. Like a king, everything is gathered, and he is not moved by the dominion over all of Samsara and Nirvana. Just as all the subjects and citizens are gathered under the dominion of the king without moving from his own palace, so too, all of Samsara and Nirvana are gathered in this state of awareness without moving from the Dharma-nature. From the Dzogpa Spyi Chings: In the great expanse of space-like Bodhicitta, all phenomena without exception are gathered like a king. The expanse of equality, unmoving, dominating all. Self-arisen wisdom, without any change from the beginning. Thus it is said. Although everything is done by the mind of enlightenment and arises from the mind, the nature of the mind is not made by anyone, and because it transcends all actions and activities, it is shown that there is no need to do anything: From the Kunje Gyalpo Tantra: Bodhicitta does everything, but does not do one thing. Everything done is done by the very nature of Bodhi. There is no need to do what has not been done. Thus it is said. Because all Dharmas are equal in nature, it is shown that there is no good or bad and no effort or accomplishment: Everything is Samantabhadra, there is not one that is not good. There is no good or bad, everything is good. Accomplished and unaccomplished, all are one in the realm. Everything is spontaneously accomplished, unmoving, and equal as one. All Dharmas are equal in appearance, the play of emptiness and form in nature, therefore there is no good or bad and no effort or accomplishment, only one. Emptiness is equal, without foundation, pure like the sky, therefore there is no good or bad and no acceptance or rejection, only one, self-

Due to the equality of coemergent wisdom's nature, there is no good or bad and no partiality, but oneness. As the Great Mother says, "All dharmas are equal, and the prajñāpāramitā is also equal." The All-Creating King says, "All dharmas are of the nature of space. The nature of space is suchness. The nature of the three kāyas abides in suchness. Everything abides in suchness. All dharmas that appear are not to be altered from what they are. There is no acceptance or rejection of good or bad." Thus it is. The very arising from the expanse shows that it is beyond effort and accomplishment, namely: From one, everything arises, without remainder, is the expanse of dharmas. In the state of non-doing, there is nothing to accomplish, nothing to exert. Since effort and accomplishment are not other than one's own expanse, from where does one exert effort, and where does one accomplish? Just as in a dream, those who exert effort and accomplish are exhausted but meaningless, and the body has not left the bed, and nothing has been done or accomplished. Now, the effort and accomplishment of abandoning and adopting is the same. There is nothing other than the state of awareness, and nothing has been done or accomplished, because it has not moved from the state of awareness itself. Like the foolishness of Chandrakirti, clinging to illusory appearances, there is no touch or approach to the nature of reality, not even a particle. Therefore, the nature of mind is like space, and there is no need for effort and accomplishment, because it cannot be changed by cause and effect. Because self-born wisdom abides as the basis of all, although all dharmas arise from it, it is beyond the extremes of good and evil. As the Prasangika says, "Such a way of abiding, if explained to the śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas, they will be terrified and faint. Therefore, it should be kept most secret. Dharmas without imputation, because there is no place of origin, are called the basis. Because there is no abiding in it, neither reality nor emptiness abides. Light and darkness, existence and non-existence, going and coming, have no beginning or end. Because it is not bound by effort and exertion, it is natural and spontaneous. Because there is no limit or partiality, there is no establishment of good and evil. In order to eliminate both good and evil, it does not abide in samsara or nirvana. Because the nature of reality is emptiness and all-pervading, in the wisdom abiding in its own face, there is no distinction in the form of the three." Thus it is said. And as the Accomplishment of Skill says: Self-awareness is primordially unchanging.
