. Like a king, everything is gathered, controlling all of samsara and nirvana with ease, without moving. Just as all subjects gather under the rule of a king without him leaving his palace, all of samsara and nirvana gather here in the state where awareness does not move from its own nature. In the Dzogchen General Treatise, it says: In the great expanse of space-like bodhicitta, all dharmas gather, like a king. Controlling all, the unwavering, equal expanse, self-born wisdom, never changing. Thus it is said. Although everything is done by bodhicitta and arises from the mind, the nature of mind is not made by anyone, transcending all action and agent, therefore there is no need to act, as taught: In the All-Creating King, it says: Bodhicitta makes all, yet makes none. All that is made is made by the very nature of bodhicitta. That which is not made, there is no need to act. Thus it is said. All dharmas are equal in nature, therefore there is no good or bad, no effort or practice, as taught: Everything is Samantabhadra, there is no non-Samantabhadra, no good or bad, only Samantabhadra. Accomplished and unaccomplished, all essence is one, all spontaneously accomplished, unwavering, equal, one. All dharmas are equal in appearance, the play of emptiness and form in nature, therefore there is no good or bad, no effort or practice, one. Emptiness is equal, without basis, pure like the sky, therefore there is no good or bad, no acceptance or rejection, one. Equal in the state of self-born wisdom, therefore there is no good or bad, no partiality, one. In the Great Mother Sutra, it says: All dharmas are equal in nature, therefore the Prajnaparamita is equality. In the All-Creating King, it says: All dharmas are the nature of space, the nature of space is suchness. The nature of the three bodies abides in suchness, all abides in suchness. All dharmas that appear, cannot be altered from suchness. There is no good or bad, acceptance or rejection. Thus it is said. Manifesting from the dharmadhatu, therefore transcending effort and practice, as taught: From one arises all, the entirety of the dharmadhatu. In the state of non-action, there is no practice, no effort. Effort and practice do not come from outside one's own dharmadhatu. From where does one strive, and where does one practice? Just as striving and practicing in a dream, although exhausted, is meaningless, and one has not left the bed, not accomplishing anything. Now, the effort and practice of abandoning and adopting is also like that.

Just like me, there is nothing other than the state of awareness, and there is no doing or attaining, because there is no movement from the state of awareness itself. Unlike the intelligence of Chandrakirti (Tibetan: ཟླ་བ་རྒྱལ་མཚན་), which is nothing but delusion arising from clinging to appearances as real, there is not even a particle of touch or proximity to the nature of reality. Therefore, the nature of mind is like the sky, there is no need for effort or practice, because it cannot be changed by cause and effect. Self-arisen wisdom abides as the basis of all, and all phenomena arise from it, but it itself transcends the limits of good and evil. The *Madhyamakāvatāra* says: "Such a way of abiding in the nature of reality, if spoken to Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas, they will be terrified and faint, therefore this Dharma should be kept extremely secret. The nature of all phenomena without designation, because there is no place of origin, is called the basis, because there is no place of abiding in it, neither reality nor emptiness abides. Light and darkness, existence and non-existence, coming and going, birth and death are all without limit, because it is not bound by effort, it is natural and spontaneous, without limit and partiality, therefore there is no establishment of good and evil, in order to eliminate both good and evil, it does not abide on the shore of Saṃsāra and Nirvāṇa, the emptiness of Dharma-nature pervades all, in the wisdom abiding in its own nature, there is no distinction of the three." Also, *Perfecting the Potential* says: "Self-awareness is originally immutable, the two, good and evil, cannot obscure me, because it is self-arisen, without cause or condition, there is no need to practice fabricated Dharma." Therefore, what transcends cause and effect, effort and practice is: there is no place to search for, no seeing through meditation; there is no place to practice, it does not come from elsewhere; there is no going or coming, it is the equality of Dharmakāya; gathered in the realm of the spontaneously perfect great bindu. The essence of mind, like the sky, is the single realm of bindu, and all phenomena are gathered in it, so it cannot be searched for by the ten natures, etc. The Dharmadhātu is boundless. The *Kunjed Gyalpo Tantra* says: "This Bodhicitta, the essence of all, is spontaneously perfect in its own nature from the beginning, there is no need to seek and practice with the ten natures. My nature is like the sky, in the sky all is not done, all is done in the sky, the sky transcends all effort and practice. That

Thus, the essence of all actions is Bodhicitta. Because I transcend all realms of action, There is nothing to see in me, and from the beginning, nothing to meditate on. Likewise, those ten natures also, Have no power over me who have passed beyond. Those who possess the vehicle of cause and effect, If they seek me with the ten natures, Wishing to see me and my nature, It is like abandoning steps in the sky and falling to the ground. Progressing with the ten natures will lead to downfall. My nature must be shown to its source. Because I transcend all realms of action, Just as there is no seeing or meditating, Likewise, the ten natures are meaningless. Do not misunderstand that the ten natures have meaning. Because I am not an object to be seen by looking, Do not look, but leave it as it is. So it is said. Now, in explaining the gathering of all vehicles into the mind of awareness and enlightenment, the way the three small ones gather is: the teachings of the Hearers, Solitary Realizers, and Bodhisattvas, Having determined the absence of self and what belongs to self, The view is the same, like the sky, free from elaboration. The teachings of Ati, the Supreme Secret Great Yoga, In the vast sky without distinction of self and other, Naturally arising wisdom abides as it is, All those views are gathered in this supreme essence. The view of the Hearers is that all phenomena, inner and outer, are without self of a person, like the sky, and the Solitary Buddhas, on top of that, do not grasp half of the phenomena, and the Bodhisattvas consider the grasper and the grasped, that is, phenomena and the self of a person, to be the nature of the sky. As it is said in the Sutra of the Wheel of No Return: Ignorance is like the sky, all phenomena are without characteristics. That realization also, in the Great Perfection, the self-arisen wisdom, the empty-clear self-arisen wisdom is gathered into the essence of the sky, therefore, because the suchness of all phenomena is gathered, it is gathered in this view. In the Kunjed it says: In the nature of the all-creating Bodhicitta, all are gathered, like the sky, free from elaboration. So it is said. The gathering of the three mediums is also, the three classes of Kriya, Upa, and Yoga, through self, deity, and samadhi offering clouds, the three doors are purified, desiring accomplishment as one. Vajrasekhara, Sutra, and Secret also, appearance, sound, awareness are pure, from the beginning, deity, the three doors are pure, real
