Thirteenth: Explanation of the Chapter on Contemplating the Difficulty of Obtaining Leisure and Endowment. Thirteenth: Explanation of the Chapter on Contemplating the Difficulty of Obtaining Leisure and Endowment. Thus, having clearly understood the general and specific characteristics of all phenomena through the wisdom arising from hearing, in order to accomplish liberation, through the wisdom arising from the second Vajra position of contemplation, generally contemplate the meaning of the sacred teachings heard, and in particular, the order of advising to contemplate the five, such as the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment, is as follows: Thus, after being adorned with sacred hearing, definitely generate the wisdom of contemplation in your mind. Furthermore, all the meanings of what is heard, and especially the five aspects to be contemplated. The certainty of what is heard depends on the wisdom arising from contemplation. When one enters into thinking inwardly through closely examining the meaning, Such as the tenets mentioned and the arrangement of the world, and especially the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment, impermanence of life, benefits of faith, cause and effect of karma, and the faults of samsara. One should engage in contemplating these five aspects. Furthermore, among the supports for accomplishing enlightenment, the most excellent is the human body with leisure and endowment, so one should generate joy and happiness upon obtaining it. If one does not contemplate it, there is the fault of wasting leisure. Although it is obtained, there is no certainty, so to encourage the accumulation of virtue, one should contemplate the impermanence of life as a whip of diligence. If one does not contemplate it, there is the fault of not having the opportunity to grasp the path to liberation due to laziness and indolence. Then, one must generate the army of faith, which is cherished above all else. If one does not generate it, there is the fault of losing the root of Dharma. Then, one must contemplate the subtle aspects of cause and effect of good and bad karma. If one does not contemplate it, there is the fault of never being liberated from the suffering of samsara. Then, one must contemplate the faults of the high and low states of samsara. If one does not contemplate it, there is the fault of not knowing what to accept and reject in samsara and nirvana, and therefore not grasping the path to liberation and enlightenment. Thus, these five Dharmas ensure that a person does not err in entering the path to liberation. Thus, there are five Dharmas to be contemplated, among which, for now, the first, Contemplating the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment: turning away from non-leisure, becoming human, with complete faculties(藏文:དབང་པོ་ཚང་,梵文天城体:पूर्ण,梵文罗马拟音:pūrṇa,汉语字面意思:圆满), born in a land with Dharma,

Awakening of karmic connections, not abandoning the end of activities, faith in the Dharma's abode. It is extremely difficult to find many virtuous companions who uphold the Dharma. If beings are carried away by the flood of birth and death in endless samsara, now that we have found the boat of leisure and opportunity to cross to the other shore of samsara, this is an extremely rare thing to have found, so we should rejoice greatly and diligently practice the Dharma. Therefore, it is difficult to obtain leisure and opportunity free from the eight unfree states, and it is also difficult to obtain a human body and complete faculties. As the "Brahma King's Increase of Warmth Birth Liberation Sutra" says: It is difficult to be free from the eight unfree states. It is also difficult to have complete leisure and opportunity. It is also difficult to obtain a human body. It is also difficult to have complete faculties. To encounter an excellent and auspicious place, a place where the Dharma flourishes, to have made aspirations in the past to practice the Dharma, to have the karmic connections awakened by the power of merit, to meet a virtuous spiritual friend and rely on them, these are the four great wheels, which are difficult to obtain. The "Letter to a Friend" says: Rely on virtuous people, dwell in a suitable place, I have made good aspirations in the past, and have also accumulated merit, you have the four great wheels. Thus. Not abandoning the end of activities, constantly doing good is also difficult to obtain, entering the abode of the Dharma with faith is also difficult to obtain, and being with many virtuous companions who practice the Dharma is also difficult to obtain. Therefore, if we do not practice the Dharma at this time when we have obtained such leisure and opportunity, it will be extremely difficult to obtain such leisure and opportunity in the future, and it will also be very rare to encounter the Dharma. The "Entering the Bodhisattva's Way of Life" says: This leisure and opportunity is extremely difficult to obtain, since we have already achieved the meaning of human life, if we do not do good at this time, how can we obtain this opportunity in the future? Thus. Thinking about the reasons why these are difficult to obtain, there are eight in total. First, thinking about the difficulty of obtaining freedom from the unfree states: hell, hungry ghosts, animals, long-lived gods, borderlands, wrong views, where there is no Buddha, and dumbness, these eight are not vessels for the Dharma. This is because there is no time to practice the Dharma, so it is called the place of no leisure. Here, there are eight unfree states of one's own continuum depending on the body, and sudden causes and conditions of not
