སྟེན་ལ་བརྩོན་པར་བྱ། །དེས་ནི་འདི་ཕྱིར་བདེ་ལེགས་ཆོས་འགྲུབ་བོ། །རང་ལ་བདོག་པས་ཉེ་བར་མཉེས་བྱས་ཏེ། །ཆོས་ཀྱི་ཡོན་ནི་གཞལ་དུ་མེད་པའི་ཕྱིར། །ཚོགས་རྫོགས་བར་ཆད་ཞི་ཞིང་དཔལ་འབྱོར་ལྡན། །བྱང་ཆུབ་ཞི་བ་མྱུར་དུ་ཐོབ་པར་འགྱུར། །ཅུང་ཟད་ཕུལ་ལ་ཁེ་རྔམས་མི་སྒྲོག་ཅིང༌། །གཞན་དུ་མི་བགྲང་འགྱོད་པར་ཡོང་མི་བྱ། །འདི་ཕྱིའི་དོན་ཆེན་འགྲུབ་པའི་ཐབས་ ཡིན་ཕྱིར། །ལེགས་དགུས་མཆོད་ཅིང་རྟག་ཏུ་བསྙེན་བཀུར་བྱ། །སྤྱོད་ལམ་མཆོག་གིས་མཉེས་པར་བྱ་བ་ཡང༌། །ལུས་ཀྱིས་ཕྱག་དང་བསྐོར་བ་མཆོད་པ་འབུལ། །བར་ཆད་བསྲུང་དང་མངག་གཞུག་གཡོག་བྱ་དང༌། །ལྡང་དང་གདན་འདིང་བཀུར་སྟི་སྣ་ཚོགས་བྱ། །སྤང་བྱའི་སྤྱོད་ལམ་མི་གུས་བག་མེད་ནི། །འབྲུ་ཚུགས་བལྟ་དང་བཞི་གཉེར་ཐལ་མོ་རྡེབ། །རྒྱབ་ཟུར་སྟོན་དང་རྐང་ལག་རྐྱོང་བ་དང༌། །ཉལ་འཕྲེས་འཐབ་འཛིངས་རྩེད་འཇོ་འཇོ་སྒེག་བྱེད། །མཆིལ་སྣབས་འདོར་དང་གྲིབ་མ་འགོང་པ་དང༌། །བཞུད་ཚེ་མ་གནང་མདུན་འགྲོས་ཞབས་རྗེས་བརྫི། །ལྷམ་སྟན་བཞོན་པ་ནོར་རྫས་སྤྱོད་པ་དང༌། །སྐུ་ལ་ཚད་འཇལ་ན་བཟའ་བཞུགས་གདན་འགོང༌། །མ་གུས་མི་ཤེས་ཉེས་དེ་སྤང་བར་བྱ། །ངག་ཀྱང་སྙན་པས་བསྟོད་དང་སྐྱབས་སུ་འགྲོ། །ཚིག་འཇམ་སྙན་པས་ཞེ་ས་རི་གྲོར་བཅས། །གསུངས་བཞིན་སྒྲུབ་ཅིང་ཅི་གསུང་ལེགས་ཞེས་བརྗོད། །གཞན་ལའང་བླ་མའི་ཡོན་ཏན་བརྗོད་བྱ་ཞིང༌། །དབྱངས་སྙན་དད་དང་བཅས་པས་གསོལ་བ་གདབ། །གང་གི་མི་དགེ་སྣ་ཚོགས་སྤང་པར་བྱ། །བླ་མའི་དྲུང་དུ་རྫུན་དང་ཕྲ་མ་དང༌། །ཚིག་རྩུབ་ཅ་ཅོ་ངག་འཁྱལ་བྲེ་མོའི་གཏམ། །བཀའ་གཅོག་གདོང་ཟློག་ཞེ་གཅོད་ལྐོག་ནས་གཤེ། །ཅོ་འདྲི་ལ་སོགས་ངག་གི་སྒྲིབ་པ་སྤང༌། །ཡིད་ཀྱིས་བླ་མའི་ཡོན་ཏན་དྲན་བྱ་ཞིང༌། །དད་གུས་ཆེན་པོས་འཕྲད་དཀའི་བློ་བསྐྱེད་ལ། །རྗེས་བཟུང་འགྲོ་བ་གཞན་ལའང་གུས་་པར་བྱ། །མ་དད་ལོག་པར་ལྟ་དང་ཁོང་ཁྲོ་དང༌། །རྟག་ཏུ་སྐྱོན་ལ་སེམས་དང་བརྙས་སེམས་དང༌། །འགྲན་སེམས་གནོད་འཚེའི་སེམས་དང་ང་རྒྱལ་སེམས། །མཛད་སྤྱོད་འགལ་བར་འཛིན་དང་མ་དད་སེམས། །བརྣབ་སེམས་གནོད་སེམས་ལོག་ལྟའི་སེམས་རྣམས་སྤང༌། །གསུང་བཞིན་རྗེས་སུ་བསྒྲུབ་པས་མཆོད་པ་ནི། །ཐོས་པ་དམ་པའི་དོན་རྣམས་བསམ་བྱ་སྟེ། །ནགས་མཐར་སོང་ནས་སྙིང་པོའི་དོན་ལ་འབད། །སྒྲུབ་པས་དུས་འདའ་གོང་མའི་གདུང་འཚོབ་བཟུང༌། དགེ་བའི་བཤེས་གཉེན་བསྟེན་པའི་ལེའུ་སྟེ་བརྒྱད་པ།

应当精勤依止（善知识）。如此则今生来世安乐，佛法成就。以自己所拥有的令其欢喜，因为佛法的功德无可衡量。圆满资粮，息灭障碍，具足财富。迅速获得菩提寂静之果。略微供养也不炫耀自己的功德，不轻视他人，不生后悔。因为这是成就今生来世大利益的方法。以各种美好之物供养，恒常恭敬承侍。以殊胜的行为使之欢喜，身体行顶礼、绕转、供养。守护（上师）免受障碍，听从差遣，承侍，起身、铺设坐垫，做各种恭敬。应当断除的不恭敬、放逸的行为是：看（上师的）谷物，探究隐私，拍手。背对侧对（上师），伸展手脚，躺卧交谈，争斗打架，嬉戏玩闹，卖弄风情。吐痰、擤鼻涕，跨越影子，离开时未经允许，走在前面，踩踏足迹。穿鞋、坐垫、骑乘，使用财物，用身体丈量（上师的）身体，跨越衣服和坐垫。对于不恭敬、不知道的过失，应当断除。语言方面，也以悦耳之语赞颂、皈依。以柔和悦耳之语，加上敬语和谦辞。按照所说而行，对于所说之语回答“好的”。也应向他人讲述上师的功德，以美妙的音声和信心祈祷。应当断除一切不善之行。在上师面前，不说谎、不离间，不说粗语、闲言碎语、无意义的玩笑话。不违背教言，不顶撞，不伤害心，不在背后议论。不争辩等等，断除语言的罪障。心中忆念上师的功德，以极大的信心和恭敬心，生起难得的菩提心。摄受（众生），也应恭敬其他众生。断除不信、邪见、愤怒，总是寻思过错、轻蔑之心，竞争之心、损害之心、傲慢之心。执着行为相违，以及不信心、贪心、害心、邪见之心。以依教奉行来供养上师，应当思维所听闻的殊胜之义，前往寂静的森林，努力修持精华之义。以修行度过时光，继承上师的传承。 依止善知识品第八。
English
One should strive to rely on (the virtuous teacher). By this, happiness and well-being will be achieved in this life and the next, and the Dharma will be accomplished. Please him by what you possess, because the merit of the Dharma is immeasurable. Complete the accumulations, pacify obstacles, and possess wealth. Quickly attain the peaceful fruit of enlightenment. Do not boast of your merits when offering a little, do not belittle others, and do not regret it. Because this is the method to accomplish great benefit in this life and the next. Offer with all good things, and always attend with reverence. Also, please him with excellent conduct, physically prostrating, circumambulating, and offering. Protect (the teacher) from obstacles, obey orders, serve, rise, spread cushions, and show various kinds of respect. The disrespectful and careless behaviors to be abandoned are: looking at (the teacher's) grain, investigating privacy, clapping hands. Turning the back or side to (the teacher), stretching arms and legs, lying down and chatting, fighting, playing, and flirting. Spitting and blowing the nose, stepping over shadows, leaving without permission, walking in front, stepping on footprints. Wearing shoes, cushions, riding, using possessions, measuring (the teacher's) body with one's own, and stepping over clothes and cushions. These faults of disrespect and ignorance should be abandoned. In speech, also praise and take refuge with pleasant words. With gentle and pleasant words, add honorifics and humble expressions. Act according to what is said, and answer "yes" to what is said. Also, tell others about the teacher's qualities, and pray with beautiful voice and faith. All kinds of non-virtuous deeds should be abandoned. In front of the teacher, do not lie or slander, do not use harsh words, idle chatter, or meaningless jokes. Do not disobey instructions, do not contradict, do not hurt the heart, and do not gossip behind the back. Do not argue, etc., and abandon the sins of speech. In mind, remember the teacher's qualities, and with great faith and reverence, generate the rare mind of enlightenment. Embrace (beings), and also respect other beings. Abandon disbelief, wrong views, anger, always thinking of faults, contempt, competition, harm, arrogance. Holding contradictory actions, as well as disbelief, greed, harm, and wrong views. Offer by following the instructions, and contemplate the meaning of the excellent teachings that have been heard, go to a quiet forest, and strive to practice the essential meaning. Spend time in practice, and continue the lineage of the predecessors. Chapter Eight: Relying on a Virtuous Spiritual Friend.
