'You meddling busybody! If you didn't want to stay here in winter, why did you come here in summer? Don't you like staying in one place?' He replied, 'You lama, who only chants for patrons, if you don't do retreats in winter and autumn, what are you doing here in summer without chanting? Don't you like staying at home?' I replied, 'My heart is bigger than other birds, snatching food from mouths and hands, possessing quick skills and sharp claws, I think its heart is very high.' He replied, 'Arrogant and conceited, more self-important than others, constantly chanting, greedy for patrons' wealth, I think his thoughts are very bad.' I replied, 'At the top of the lush forest, it rests quietly, though beautiful, its mind wanders in all directions, isn't it a cunning person looking for opportunities?' He replied, 'In front of wealthy patrons, his clothes are as gorgeous as a rainbow, but even feeding him with food cannot satisfy him, isn't it an insatiable greed?' I replied, 'Even if you find a lot of food, it is difficult to feed, a group of hungry chicks, I wonder when they can help, it is too hard to find food for you here.' He replied, 'Even with the patron's wealth, it is difficult to feed, those old chanters' leftovers, often do more harm than good, you are more tired than me.' I replied, 'With a curved beak tightly closed, an ugly body, with yellowish-brown feathers, its wings and flying skills are poor, isn't it frustrated by hunger?' He replied, 'Speaking loudly and trembling, wearing tattered old clothes, you seem to have no interest in the temple, aren't you happy inside?' I replied, 'Every early morning, from dawn onwards, even wandering in mountain villages without markets, it is difficult to find food, this shows that you have not accumulated any merit before.' He replied, 'From a young age, learning to chant, even if constantly chanting for patrons, if there is no oil on his face, then his fortune is less than mine.' I replied, 'Even if raising chicks with love, but when they are finally able to be independent, they do not know how to repay, what is the use of considering themselves descendants?' He replied, 'Even full of compassion...' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

‘Dear ones! Covering and nourishing with poisonous food, when will you reach the next life? Is it worthwhile to bear the suffering alone?’ I replied: ‘When encountering severe material equipment, he is the most enduring of all birds. He is braver than others, but beware of sudden disasters.’ He replied: ‘When disasters occur in the village, he has more wealth than other monks. Your heart is infinitely broad, but your body seems unable to control itself.’ I replied: ‘When using treacherous means to lure birds with food and slaughter them, if he is too confident, he may be burned by the burning flames of food.’ He replied: ‘Spending a lifetime greedily pursuing wealth, if your heart is still not satisfied, you may be burned by the fires of hell in the next life.’ I replied: ‘Even if your voice is loud and pleasant, your body cannot act as you wish. Even if you imitate the scriptures, it is meaningless for you, a bird.’ He replied: ‘Even if you preach the Dharma loudly and pleasantly, you do not have the power to save the living. Even if you imitate the guide, it is difficult for you to benefit beings, and you are not a protector.’ I replied: ‘You are not an ignorant animal, but an excellent bird that can understand and speak. There is no falsehood in what you say, because you possess the truth.’ He replied: ‘If I possess the truth, do not rely on poisonous food. Let your body rest in the meditation room, and let your mind focus on non-conceptual meditation!’ After saying this, he flew away. In response to the earnest request of a dear friend, Jiangyang Gyatso, Geshe Tsangyang Gyatso, quickly wrote these words with a playful mind. Title: In the lotus garden, joyful bees, the song inviting guests, named Heavenly Music Lyre. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
