Collection of Teachings by Ngawang Lodro Drakpa JNLD235: 'A Concise Method for Practicing the Guru Yoga of Dorje Chang Ngawang Konchok Dargye—Opening the Door to Blessings' 9-75 'A Concise Method for Practicing the Guru Yoga of Dorje Chang Ngawang Konchok Dargye—Opening the Door to Blessings' Namo Guru! Here, I respectfully prostrate at the feet of the venerable and precious Guru. To begin the practice of Guru Yoga, first take refuge: The all-pervading, luminous, and clear essence of inner space. From the very beginning, it is the ultimate, spontaneously perfect Three Refuges. In the state of oneness of the ground and fruition, the expanse of mind. I take refuge without turning back in definitive meaning. (Recite three times) Generate Bodhicitta: The nature of reality, the inherent element, has been our companion for a long time. Due to the power of deluded thoughts and ignorance, we have not recognized it. To swiftly manifest self-illumination for all beings. I will meditate on the Guru Yoga of the abiding reality. (Recite three times) Then, generate the object of support: The great emanation of the primordial Dharmakaya, the dance of appearances. From the play of pure equality, great wisdom. Unobstructed, wondrous displays of illusion. In the space in front, within a mass of light intertwined with rainbows. On a moon cushion atop a lotus flower with various colored stamens. The very essence of all Buddhas of the three times. More kind than the teacher himself, the source of grace. The Vajradhara possessing the three qualities, the treasure of compassion. The root Guru, the supreme guide of beings. The one bearing the name Ngawang Konchok Dargye. Whose body is white, radiating a reddish glow. 9-76 Manifesting light, shining with the splendor of a thousand rays. Whose beautiful face surpasses the radiance of the moon. Adorned with long, lotus-like, captivating eyes. Possessing a peaceful demeanor, with a loving smile. Whose two hands form the earth-touching mudra, with thumb and forefinger. Holding the stem of a lotus flower. Above the blooming pistils of the lotus on the right and left. Adorned with the supreme symbols of skillful means and wisdom. Seated in the vajra posture. Wearing a pandita hat and a Nab-aggas robe. Beautifully adorned with the maroon robes of a fully ordained monk. Possessing the qualities of a hundred thousand wondrous samadhis. A loving face displaying the joy of youth. From the emanations of his body, speech, and mind qualities. Dancing and playing in all directions of space. The root and lineage Gurus, the Yidam mandala. And all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And along with the Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and other noble beings, manifesting uninterrupted illusory displays, regarding all of them as manifestations of the Guru. (The Guru's four places are marked with four-letter mantras.) Arising from the very radiance of the innate Dharmakaya, clearly visible in the supreme realm of pure perception. Next is the seven-branch offering: The first protector encompassing all lineages, the master of the three secret wheels, the lord of existence and quiescence, possessing the ability to expand and contract the display of countless emanations, I bow with my head to the feet of the glorious Guru. Whatever delightful pure nectar water exists in the infinite realms of the world, and the varieties of beautifully adorned lotus flowers, the fragrant scents that nourish the sense of smell, whatever brilliant lights shine forth, and the continuous stream of fragrant divine substances, all the delightful sounds of various musical instruments, and also the auspicious substances, symbols, and the seven precious jewels, all the wealth of gods and humans, without exception, and whatever wondrous displays arise from the samadhi of hundreds of yogic mantras, filling the entirety of infinite space, with the vast sacred substances of purification and realization, and the profound secret of supreme bliss, sealed with the view free from conceptual elaboration, I respectfully offer, please accept with love. From beginningless time, whatever sins I have committed under the influence of afflictions, from now on I vow to never repeat them, please purify them completely. Whatever virtue is created by those who dwell in the vast ten directions, I rejoice from the depths of my heart. With endless displays of emanations, for the beings to be tamed in pure and impure realms, with the wheel of Dharma that suits each individual, may realization arise in accordance with their dispositions and capacities. May the unchanging, indestructible Dharmakaya, remain steadfast in the immutable vajra realm, without dwelling in cyclic existence or nirvana through alternating manifestations for the sake of beings, may you always be manifest, an inexhaustible treasure of fortunate eons. By the merit of all that pure virtue, may I swiftly meet the expanse of the inner Dharmakaya, and soon realize that very essence of emptiness, may I accomplish the ultimate deeds of the Guru. Next is the supplication: From the single Dharmakaya wisdom of all the Buddhas, arising from the definitive self-radiance, with the excellent magic of vast activities of all kinds, I supplicate the incarnate Guru. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ང་ཕྱུག་
