Established from the realm. The mental sphere (意处) is mental consciousness (意意识), which is the door through which the five consciousnesses cognize objects. The dharma sphere (法处) is all the objects upon which mental consciousness arises. The mental realm (意界) is mental consciousness, which is the basis of the nature of mind itself. The dharma realm (法界) is the basis of the distinct natures of the objects of mental consciousness. The realm of mental consciousness (意之识界) is mental consciousness, which is the basis of the nature of consciousness itself. The principal consciousnesses of the six consciousnesses each depend on themselves, becoming the door through which subsequent mental consciousness arises outwardly towards objects. The dharma sphere (法处) is the door of the sole mental consciousness that arises, holding onto non-associated formations and consciousnesses individually. The mental realm (意界) is the realm of the lineage that generates the principal consciousnesses of the six consciousnesses, capable of holding onto external objects with subsequent mental consciousness. The dharma realm (法界) is, in general, the realm where all dharmas become objects of mental consciousness. The realm of mental consciousness (意之识界) is the wisdom principal consciousness, which is the realm that holds the lineage of the aspect of consciousness, the totality of the essence of the meaning of dharmas. The Hearer's Lesser Vehicle (声闻小乘), the Solitary Realizer's Middle Vehicle (独觉中乘), and the Bodhisattva's Great Vehicle (菩萨大乘). Each of these three has five paths: the Path of Accumulation (资粮道), the Path of Preparation (加行道), the Path of Seeing (见道), the Path of Meditation (修道), and the Path of No More Learning (无学道). When the Path of No More Learning is attained by both Hearers and Solitary Realizers, the state of Arhat (阿罗汉) is attained. The Path of No More Learning for Bodhisattvas is the state of Buddhahood (佛). The Paths of Accumulation and Preparation for each are the paths of ordinary beings, while the Paths of Seeing and Meditation are the paths of the noble ones. The Path of Accumulation has three levels: small, medium, and large. The Path of Preparation has four stages: warmth (暖位), peak (顶位), forbearance (忍位), and supreme mundane qualities (世第一法). The Path of Seeing has three paths: the Path of Uninterruptedness (无间道), the Path of Liberation (解脱道), and the Path of Distinction (殊胜道). The Path of Meditation has nine stages, and each stage has three paths: the Path of Uninterruptedness, the Path of Liberation, and the Path of Distinction. Although there are paths in the Paths of Accumulation and Preparation, there is no Truth of the Path (道谛). The Truth of Cessation (灭谛) is the suchness of the abandonment of whatever is to be abandoned by those on or above the Path of Seeing. The Truth of the Path is the wisdom of those on or above the Path of Seeing, who directly realize the two kinds of selflessness (人无我 and 法无我). The wisdom that knows things as they are (如所有智) is the knowledge of the Buddhas and noble ones who directly see all the profound emptiness (空性) of the nature of all phenomena included in samsara and nirvana. The wisdom that knows things as many as they are (如量智) is the wisdom of the Buddhas and noble ones who know all the conventional phenomena included in samsara and nirvana, except for emptiness. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Body is the Mind Body, which is the direct realization of indivisible wisdom. The qualities are the Enjoyment Body and the Emanation Body, like the Form Body adorned with marks and signs. Speech is the indivisible Mind Speech, the sixty-branch Brahma sound. Mind is simultaneously knowing all knowable things. The eye faculty is the pure subtle particles in the location of the eye, like a zircon flower. The ear faculty is the pure subtle particles in the location of the ear, like a rolled and cut barley grain. The nose faculty is the pure subtle particles in the location of the nose, like two copper needles placed side by side. The tongue faculty is the pure subtle particles in the location of the tongue, like two half-moons placed side by side, not touching the width of a horse's tail. The body faculty is the pure subtle particles in the location of the body, conforming to the shape of the body, not pervading the hair and nails, but pervading the inside of the body. These cannot be seen by ordinary eyes. The object apprehended by eye consciousness is form. The object apprehended by ear consciousness is sound. The object apprehended by nose consciousness is smell. The object apprehended by tongue consciousness is taste. The object apprehended by body consciousness is touch. In general, there are six types of consciousness: eye consciousness, ear consciousness, nose consciousness, tongue consciousness, body consciousness, and mind consciousness. Each of these consciousnesses has five accompanying mental factors. Here is how to identify these five accompanying mental factors: For example, when eye consciousness cognizes blue, the mind that can directly see the essence of blue by its own power is the primary mind that cognizes blue. The mind that can, by its own power, recognize the essence of blue without confusing it with anything else is the perception that cognizes blue. The mind that can, by its own power, experience blue as a feeling of happiness, pain, or neutrality is the feeling that cognizes blue. The mind that can, by its own power, grasp the essence of blue without forgetting it is the intention that cognizes blue. The mind that can, by its own power, bring consciousness into direct contact with the essence of blue is the contact that cognizes blue. The mind that can, by its own power, specifically direct consciousness towards the essence of blue is the attention that cognizes blue. For example, when looking at something beautiful (medium, not beautiful), experiencing a feeling of pleasure (painful, neutral) in the eye is a pleasant feeling (neutral feeling, painful feeling). At this time, the eye faculty is the basis. The primary mind, perception, etc., that are in conjunction with the pleasant (painful, neutral) appearance are the associated factors. The object is the beautiful (not beautiful, medium) thing. Similarly, there are corresponding feelings for not beautiful and medium things. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
