May the original liberation be preserved. Called Original Liberation Preserved. Homage to glorious Samantabhadra. In the state of being unborn from the beginning, free from the root, In the ordinary, naturally occurring, innate nature, Without giving up, holding, going, or coming, I pay homage. Listen as I explain a little about the way things are by nature. All phenomena of outer and inner appearances, samsara and nirvana, Are empty from the beginning, empty of inherent existence, their nature empty from the beginning. Although they appear in various ways, they are not established as such, Free from existence and non-existence, permanence and annihilation, and the elaborations of inherent nature. Although they appear in the mind, they are not established as mind, And apart from mind, not even an atom is established. Just like the appearances of one's own dream, Although appearing as non-existent, they have no nature whatsoever. They are neither mind nor phenomena arising from mind, Neither existent nor non-existent, neither true nor false. Neither separate nor unseparate, neither empty nor non-empty. No matter how you examine them, they do not abide as such, Therefore, in the way things are, there is no establishment of "this." In the single realm of originally pure nature, Different minds see many established tenets. Although each side establishes and points to "this," It is held by the net of mental judgment and thought, And all names are merely labels for the real meaning. Thus, all phenomena that appear as objects Are without objects, without support, and in a state of complete emptiness. Like dream objects and rainbows in the sky, How they appear is how they dissolve. Like the eight examples of non-existence, illusion, and magic, Whatever appears is the nature of being free from the root. Even the mind that grasps at the self within is merely a label. If you search, you will not find it; it is nowhere, inside or outside. It vanishes on its own, without a trace; the seeker is lost in his own place. Without color or shape, vast and open. Invisible when looked at, clear when left as it is. Unrepresentable, awareness beyond expression. Without material distinctions, without direction, part, or definition. Neither empty nor unempty, neither existent nor non-existent, neither is nor is not. Neither what nor this, without form or fixation. Without basis, without path, without result from the beginning. How can there be view, meditation, conduct, or result to seek? If you cut the root of grasping at your own mind, Without grasping, rootless, the dharmakaya is vast. Mind exhausted, phenomena exhausted, it reaches the original purity of awareness. More wonderful than wonder, more amazing than amazing. Ha ha, mind and self-awareness, laughter spills forth. This door of appearances that seems to exist when it does not, When looked at as other, one's own essence is empty.
