From the depths of endless samsara, realize the purity of dharmata as one all-illuminating. The face of the Great Perfection, spontaneously co-emergent from the beginning, please reveal it to exhaust the delusion of my mind. Realize the very essence of the supreme Atiyoga, possessing the unwavering samadhi like a mountain. The face of the definitive meaning, the ultimate, immeasurable, and virtuous activity, please reveal it to exhaust the clinging to good thoughts of my mind. Self-existing, spontaneously accomplished, great all-illuminating, luminosity manifest, free from the effort of samsara and nirvana. Eternally unmoving, the face of Samantabhadra, please reveal it to exhaust the ignorance of my mind. In the space of the self-existing Great Perfection, everything is spontaneously co-emergent, attaining the supreme accomplishment. The king who accumulates merit, the face of self-awareness, stainless, please reveal it to exhaust the samsara of my mind. In the primordial self-existing dharmadhatu itself, unmade, free from elaboration, luminosity, without change. The face of the great samadhi, completely liberated from the three realms, please reveal it to exhaust the acceptance and rejection of my mind. Qualities boundless, wisdom blazing with glory, the grasping of reality self-liberates, transcending all grasper and grasped. The king of self-liberation, the face of the stainless lotus, please reveal it to exhaust the illusion and delusion of my mind. (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ āḥ hūṃ svāhā, Literal Chinese meaning: Om Ah Hum Svaha.) Say this three times. Then visualize the world filled with jewels, grains, fragrances, medicines, and incense. Offer the mandala five times. All the students stand up, take off their upper garments, join their palms, and fix their eyes on the guru's heart. When the guru lets go on top of the six stacked Ahs, recite quickly and briefly, shaking the body, clarifying the speech, and bestowing the wisdom of non-conceptual mind. Then, to introduce into the mandala, with the posture of the body itself, face east. The guru says in a beautiful voice, "Ema, fortunate ones, in the center of the eastern sky, go far, far, far." Like this three times, and then says, "If you go again, is there a place to go?" Like this he speaks. Similarly, in the south, west, and north, he also changes the names and speaks. The experience of emptiness, free from thought, arises. Then, to show the mandala, the guru raises his finger, points to the sky, and shakes it, saying, "Ema, fortunate ones, look at the sky." Like this he says three times. Then, to show the deity. Take off the upper garments.

Na. Sitting in the vajra posture. Previously, Ema, in the very center of the sky, direct awareness towards those five radiant sun mandalas. Recite three times, "Previously higher and higher," and do not return again. Reciting three times means that awareness dissolves into the sphere of the three kayas, which are pure from the beginning. Then, the actual empowerment: the lama stands up, extends his right leg, bends his left leg, inserts two fingers into his eyes, and recites the syllable "A." He looks to the east, south, west, and north. Extending and bending the leg is a symbol of cutting the elaborations of samsara and nirvana. Inserting the fingers into the eyes is a symbol of wisdom arising from the eyes. Looking in the four directions is a symbol of bringing the four visions to completion. "A" (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A) is a symbol of liberation into non-arising. Then, pointing the finger towards the sky, the eyes wide open, recite three times, "The sky is vast." The sky is a symbol of the dharmadhatu. The finger is a symbol of the continuous stream of awareness. The wide-open eyes are a symbol of the way of looking. Vastness is a symbol of non-elaboration, self-arisen wisdom. These indicate the actual basis of the empowerment. Third, the praise: Having received the empowerment that is utterly without elaboration, enjoy the realm of the Dharmakaya. Purify the obscurations of the mind. Receive empowerment into the realm of the wrathful deities where self-awareness, the Bhanda (Tibetan: བྷནྡྷ, Sanskrit Devanagari: भण्डा, Sanskrit Romanization: bhaṇḍa, Chinese literal meaning: vessel), blazes. If you strive, you will be liberated in this life, and you have the authority to practice Trekchö emptiness. Even if you do not strive, liberation in the bardo or the future life is certain. Having said this, hold a feast of gathering. Thus, through this utterly non-elaborate, Having obtained the supreme king of empowerments, May the Buddha's teachings flourish, And may all beings have happiness and perfect well-being. The utterly non-elaborate empowerment ritual called "River of Wisdom." By the yogi of the supreme vehicle, Longchen Rabjam (Klong chen pa, Omniscient Great Expanse), composed to completion at the neck of the White Skull Snow Mountain, in the magnificent palace of Samantabhadra. Auspicious! Auspicious! Auspicious! From "Legacy of the Ancestors," the collected works of Longchen Rabjam (Klong chen pa, Omniscient Great Expanse) (11), "The Utterly Non-Elaborate Empowerment Ritual, River of Wisdom."
