༄༅། །The Key Text of the Four Mudra Offerings, the Wheel of Light. About the Paper Section. Called the Four Mudra Offerings. Homage to the Vajra Dancer. Beautiful and pleasing, never tiring to behold, outer and inner offering clouds radiating light, pleasing all the victorious ones, the ocean of assemblies, homage to the offering goddesses. In order to offer to the victorious ones with the dance of the outer, inner, secret, and unsurpassed mudras, I will clearly explain, for the benefit of future generations, having gathered the essence of the ocean of tantric meaning and instructions. First, the outer offering is the blessing of the hands: together with Jīha (Tibetan), place both hands on the knees, with the thumbs bent inward and pressing down. Hayagrīva (Sanskrit, Hayagrīva, Hayagrīva, Horse-Necked) seals the boundary by having the two index fingers of the threatening mudra back to back, the two little fingers joined, pointing to the directions above and below. Sumbha (Sanskrit, Sumbha, Sumbha, Subduer) also seals the boundary by reciting the mantra once, dividing it into four parts for the four directions, one and a half parts for above, and half a part for below, sealing the boundary with the previous mudra. The Hundred Syllable Mantra is the continuous ringing of the vajra bell. The blessing of the fingers is: on top of the lotus posture, hold them as in meditation, touching them in sequence, reciting: Oṃ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Oṃ, Om, Perfect), Hūṃ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Hūṃ, Hum, Sound), Trāṃ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Trāṃ, Tram, Firm), Hrīḥ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Hrīḥ, Hrih, Great Compassion), Āḥ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Āḥ, Ah, Arising). The five-place empowerment is: reciting "Buddha Abhiṣiñca" etc. in sequence, with palms joined at the crown of the head. From the same, the middle fingers are aligned like a vajra, the thumb and little finger extended to the forehead. From the same, the index finger and ring finger are bent like jewels, placed on the right ear. The thumb and little finger are aligned and extended, the others separated like blooming lotus petals, with the palms joined and crossed like a lattice behind, placed on the left ear. The offerings of the ten directions and four times are also: for Arghaṃ (Sanskrit, Arghaṃ, Argham, Water), the two index fingers and two thumbs of the joined palms are bent into a circle. The middle fingers remain extended. . The ring finger and little finger look inward. Puṣpe (Sanskrit, Puṣpe, Puspe, Flower) is like scattering flowers with a clenched fist. The index finger and thumb of the two vajra fists are joined, as if holding an incense burner. With the two vajra fists, the two thumbs are raised like candlesticks. With joined palms, the two index fingers and two thumbs
