By the power of true words, may I, upon abandoning this body, be born in the Sukhavati realm. Above, celestial music, the king of stars, excellent incense, light of incense, and masses of incense. Precious flowers bloom exceedingly, like the king of Sala trees in their glory. The splendor of precious Utpala flowers, seeing them is meaningful, like Mount Meru, and so forth. All the Buddhas, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, with their truthful, unwavering tongues. Covering their respective Buddha-fields, the immeasurable qualities of Amitayus. The countless virtues are fully expressed, embraced by all the Buddhas. With faith in this Dharma teaching, by the truth of these words, may I. Upon abandoning this body, be born in the Sukhavati realm. The arrangement of the realm of Amitabha, and the names of those Blessed Buddhas. Hearing, having heard, and about to hear, all those Buddhas, the Blessed Ones. Will be fully embraced by the Tathagatas, so say the truthful and holy ones. The Able One describes the immeasurable qualities of those Buddhas, beyond comprehension. All those Buddhas praise the qualities of Shakyamuni in the same way. In this age of the five degenerations, all that is difficult for other Buddhas to accomplish. Fully embracing, I take refuge from the heart in that Able Lord. May I, upon abandoning this body, be born in the Sukhavati realm. The teachings of the Blessed Victorious One, the Shravakas, Bodhisattvas, and. Gods, humans, Asuras, Gandharvas, and all the worlds rejoice. The words spoken by the Buddha are manifest and praised, never deceiving, utterly true. The power of the truth of the Three Jewels, the Buddhas of the ten directions and three times. And the blessings of the Tathagata Amitabha and Shakyamuni. May I and others, immediately upon abandoning this body, without any intermediate state. Be born in the supreme Buddha-field, transformed into the world of Sukhavati. May we be born there, and may all the happiness of the three times be dedicated for that purpose. From the moment I, an ordinary being abiding in the stage of faith. See, hear, remember, touch, and also by those who are touched by the wind and elements. May all beings who are touched, by the power of pure intention, aspiration, and the strength of the Victorious Ones. All swiftly be born in the realm of Sukhavati. This, the aspiration prayer in verse, containing the essence of the Sukhavati arrangement Sutra, called "Opening the Door to Liberation." Was composed at the urging of the speech of the emanation body, the precious Gtsug lag dga' ba.

Homage. In Lhasa, the center of the snowy land of Tibet, before the Jowo statue of Shakyamuni and the Eight Lamps of Light in the self-arisen Tsuklakang Temple (Jokhang), I respectfully prostrate from the depths of my heart. Rigdzin Tsewang Norbu from the Kham region, without sectarian bias, completed this on the full waxing moon of the summer month in the Fire Hare year of the thirteenth Rabjung (Tibetan calendar) (1747). Auspicious! Auspicious! Thus, relying on the teachings that emphasize meaning over words, sometimes for the sake of making the language fluent and easy to understand for individuals of various capacities, (this is done). Just as the great Indian master Hero (དཔའ་བོ།) arranged some scattered sutra verses into poetry, there is such a saying in the oral tradition of the Kadampa school. Similarly, some eminent Tibetan translators have translated some lengthy Sanskrit tantras into Tibetan poetry. Therefore, this is also because the supreme being who has attained profound wisdom has arranged the prose sections of the sutra on the arrangement of the Sukhavati realm into poetry and transformed it into a prayer. Therefore, if one recites it with one-pointed mind, one will receive the benefits of reciting the precious sutra collection of the Tathagata. Moreover, by the power of this translated prayer, once this body passes away, one will surely be reborn in that realm without doubt. Therefore, I hope that everyone will diligently practice this special prayer. Furthermore, the holy beings, in their skillful means, have always acted in a way that does not deviate from the flawless teachings of the Buddha in both essence and form. However, those who quibble over words and those who try to pass off fake gold as real gold try to compete with the holy beings, like a fox trying to chase a tiger. They arbitrarily alter the Buddha's teachings, adding and subtracting content, creating all sorts of errors, and then boast about it. Although this may seem good on the surface, it actually has no blessing and will lead to the great danger of falling into the pit of misinterpreting the meaning, so it is very important to know that this practice must be abandoned forever. This is what the inferior disciple of the Rigdzin Lama, Zapa Wangpo, who loves the Dharma, said when preparing this book for printing. Sarva Mangalam! ཡེ་དྷརྨཱ་ཧེ་ཏུ་པྲ་བྷ་ཝཱ་ཧེ་ཏུནྟེ་ཥཱནྟ་ཐཱ་ག་ཧོ་ཧྱ་བ་ད་ཏ་ཏེ་ཥཱཉྩ་ཡོ་ནི་རོ་དྷ་ཨེ་ཝཾ་ཝཱ་དཱི་མ་ཧཱ་ཤྲ་མ་ནཿ (Sanskrit: ye dharmā hetuprabhavā hetunteṣāṃ tathāgato hyavadat teṣāṃ ca yo nirodha evaṃ vādī mahāśramaṇaḥ, Romanized Sanskrit: ye dharmā hetuprabhavā hetuṃ teṣāṃ tathāgato hy avadat teṣāṃ ca yo nirodha evaṃ vādī mahāśramaṇaḥ, Literal meaning: Of all phenomena that arise from causes, the Tathagata has explained the cause, and their cessation as well is what the Great Ascetic has taught.) A prayer that is just like the meaning of the Sutra on the Arrangement of Sukhavati, opening the door to liberation.
