If, following others, one abandons the Dharma, both oneself and others will degenerate. O wise ones, do not follow those who meaninglessly accumulate the karma of abandoning the Dharma. Completely abandon partiality towards anything, O wise ones, follow those wise and accomplished ones who have no sectarianism! Among the past Kagyu masters, most of the people nowadays, although they appear to be wise, are only appearances. They have no clairvoyance, realization, or Dharma eye, they only judge with evil thoughts, and only have evil wrong views. All the past Kagyu masters, all three of Shamatha, Mahamudra, and Dzogchen, because it seems that they all make them the core, it is best to follow them with faith. If they make mistakes, it is more tolerable than the mistakes of others. Even if they make mistakes, they make mistakes in places where they should not make mistakes, what is there to say about wrong views? Thieves give names to dogs, but abandon the Brahmin carrying the goat. Some people with wrong views, slander the Dharma and the noble ones, following those who abandon the Dharma, which is heavier than the Avici hell, even if only one person joins in, they are making unbearable sinful deeds, which is like flour being blown by the wind towards the fire. If each person follows wrong views, slanders Vajrayana such as Dzogchen, and makes unbearable sinful deeds, then in the land of snows, the Dharma that can be practiced is as rare as stars in the daytime. The reason for this is as follows: Shamatha, Mahamudra, Chöd, and Taste Equality, the Vajra verses of Lamdré, the Nyingthig of Chakrasamvara, the Semtri of Chakrasamvara, the Tummo of the Path of Means for seven days, and the glorious Kalachakra, etc., the Three Cycles of Mind Commentary and the oral instructions, Guhyasamaja, the Two-in-One Victorious One, and the Chakrasamvara Ra Lotsawa's teachings, etc., all of these tantras, are they not considered to be the Buddha's words and the Dharma? O wise ones, think carefully! In all my lifetimes, I have had leisure and attainment, possessed noble qualities, and had all the favorable conditions for practicing the Dharma, such as relying on a virtuous friend, without any lack, and I have been able to have unbiased faith in all the Buddha's teachings, may I practice them properly! If I cannot practice properly, may I have unbiased faith in all the Buddha's scriptures! Know this!
