If someone asks, is it that one does not experience it in the same way as the punishments described by outsiders? From the perspective of wisdom itself, it does not exist, but from the opposite of wisdom, it can be made to appear. Therefore, because there is no stain of the two extremes of saying 'it exists' or 'it does not exist,' one slanders the appearance of stainless, pure wisdom, and says that it appears from that opposite. Therefore, one gives the name 'wisdom.' Thus, the condensed second meaning is summarized into twenty-two parts, and the texts of these chapters are explained. Thus, when mentioning names, the Six Realms and so on are explained. In terms of practice, grasping it through reliance on diligence means that, as previously mentioned, by training in the three samādhis, one demonstrates the complete passing into nirvāṇa, non-dualistically, within the realm of dharmatā. The sixth is a distinction of number. The so-called place of birth of hell refers to the nature of hell, its definition, its divisions, the transformation of karma, the measure of lifespan, the measure of suffering, and the distinctions of karma and actions. The nature is that one experiences suffering upon suffering due to the power of karma. The definition is that it is called 'hell' because one is tormented by the suffering of heat and cold. The divisions are the cold hells and the hot hells. Although it is called a cold hell, due to the ripening of previous karma, one simultaneously experiences both salty and cold sensations. Although one first experiences the suffering of heat, one also experiences cold simultaneously, so it is called 'hell.' The suffering of heat and cold lasts for a long time. Among these, the cause of being born in heat is that in all moments of killing, fire acts as a condition. Cold is that when generally killing in the past, water acted as a condition and ripened immediately. Thus, these cycles of existence are also the actions of the ripening of individual karmas, having a common cause. Because powerful karma throws beings into suffering upon suffering, therefore, in accordance with this cause, it ripens into heat and cold. Among these, if one distinguishes the emanations of the cold hells in different ways, there are eight: Achu, Kyihud, Cold, Great Cold, Sotam Tam, cracking like an উৎপལ་(藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思:乌 উৎপལ་,utpala, utpala, blue lotus), cracking greatly like an উৎপལ་(藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思:乌 উৎপལ་,utpala, utpala, blue lotus), and blooming like a lotus. Among these, the great extent of Achu (water) is one hundred kalpas. The extent of suffering, for example:

In the harsh winter winds, one experiences cold as if naked and abandoned in the snow. Due to the force of karma, even a moment when the sun rises feels like night. These are caused by committing various acts of killing in the past and disrupting the harmony of the Sangha. The amount is like the dust in the sun's rays. Hearing each other utter cries of suffering, hearing one's own suffering and the suffering of others, this is called suffering upon suffering. The term "Kyi hud" (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning) arises because the sound of "Kyema kyi hud" (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning) "Alas, kyi hud" (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning), "Who can endure such suffering!" is constantly uttered from the mouth, hence it is called Kyi hud (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning). The lifespan lasts for a thousand great kalpas. The extent of suffering is: like being hated by enemies, with limbs stretched on four stakes in the bitter winter wind, being stripped naked and hung on sharp treetops, one experiences such suffering. All appearances are seen as hateful enemies. The transformation of karma is: caused by merely killing in the past and then slandering other sentient beings with harsh words. Coldness is: cold everywhere, inside and out, hence it is called coldness. The lifespan lasts for a thousand kalpas. The extent of suffering is: the body is cold, experiencing the sensation of flesh and skin being touched again and again. The appearances are that even one's own relatives and friends appear, but they cannot provide refuge. The karma is: caused by killing and then not trusting others. From here, when life ends, one will again fall into the Howling Hell. Great coldness is: because the inner heart and lungs are extremely cold, it is called great coldness. The lifespan here is four thousand kalpas. The suffering experienced is: because of extreme cold, it penetrates from flesh to bone, and even if one does not die, the body of flesh and bone becomes as rigid as stone. Therefore, this is a body for experiencing suffering. The appearances are birds, wild animals, and darkness. The karma is: caused by killing in the past and then indulging one's own desires at will. From here, one will become an obscuration-laden being in the preta realm. Teeth chattering is: because of extreme cold, one's own teeth pierce the lips. The lifespan is eight thousand kalpas. The suffering experienced is: because of extreme cold, first blisters appear on the body, then the skin of the body peels off, but due to the power of karma, it regenerates, and one's own internal organs

The karma is arising from engaging in impure conduct on top of killing in the previous life, and from this, one will go to the obscured ones among the pretas. There are eight hot hells: hot, very hot, blister, crying, great crying, reviving, crushing, and black line. Among these, the hot hell is: experiencing the touch of heat, from very hot to hot.
