The suchness of the mind that always protects, thinking, "It should not be obstructed by harm"; the suchness of the miserly mind that, being excessively attached, hoards and does not give to others; the suchness of the mind that, being delighted in satisfying all, is unattached and thinks to spread generosity; the suchness of the mind that relies on its own skill, like a cat; the suchness of the mind that thinks to cut all bonds, like a mouse; the suchness of the mind that is content even with a small gift and angry with small things, like a dog; the suchness of the mind that is always joyful and dependent, like a song; the suchness of the mind that is quick with various uncertain thoughts, like a dance; the suchness of the mind that thinks to be satisfied by harmonious sounds, like cymbals; the suchness of the mind that thinks of itself as good and focuses on beauty, like a peacock; the suchness of the mind that thinks for the sake of sound, like the sound of a drum. The suchness of these, from the perspective of phenomena, although unmixed, is one in essence as it is, and therefore it is clarified by itself as being liberated from the one and the many. Therefore, the commentators should also follow this suchness. Alternatively, stretching, twisting, and binding are also said to be the meaning of a vine like a phallus. Because of wanting to grab others, it is the mind of a hook; because of wanting to strike, it is the mind of a hammer; because of wanting to take everything, it is the mind of a spoon; because of wanting to accumulate, it is the mind of a container.
