Second, the two of the supporting palace and the supported deity meditation. The first has three parts. First, the meditation on the mandala of the arising basis: From the letter A, which is without beginning or end, contemplate the origin of the Dharma in Akanishta. Then, contemplate the mandala of wind arising from the letter Yam. Above that, from the letter Ram, generate the mandala of fire. Above that, contemplate the letter Vam, from which comes the mandala of water. Above the mandala of water, from the letter Lam, contemplate the wisdom ground. Second, the meditation on the supporting palace: From the tantra: "Wisdom in the four directions and the center, the immeasurable and spontaneously accomplished mandala, the yogi who has realized the Great Perfection, enjoys the great mandala of all origins." As it says, "The great throne of the sky-soaring one, adorned with sun, moon, lotus, and jewels," it means: In the center of the measuring hall and at the four cardinal points, arrange the four in order. In the center, a lion; in the east, an elephant; in the south, a steed; in the west, a peacock; in the north, a garuda. Upon this excellent jeweled throne, supported by these beings, place the Pam Padmā Mandala, the Mā Sūrya Mandala, the A Candra Mandala. In the center of the various lotuses, there is a sun disc and a full moon, stacked in five layers. On the top cover of the wheel and at the four corners, place the Pam Padmā Mandala, the Mā Sūrya Mandala, the A Candra Mandala, with three layers of lotus, sun, and moon seats. On the east and west sides of the corridor, on jeweled thrones, place the Pam Padmā Mandala, the Mā Sūrya Mandala, the A Candra Mandala, with four layers of lotus, sun, and moon seats. In the north, south, and four intermediate directions, place the Pam Padmā Mandala, with one lotus seat each. At the four gates, place the Mā Sūrya Mandala, with one sun disc each, all clearly manifested. Secondly, the deities to rely upon, the generation of deities, has three aspects. The first is as stated in the tantra: "On the seat, perfect form and heroic demeanor, wheel-ruling king and queen with retinue, from the right, seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, enjoying, and accompanied by a host of consorts. At the corners are those who see, those who hear, those who smell, and those who taste, abiding with a host of consorts. In the corridor are the six Buddhas, with doers and actors in front and behind, all activities shown to abide. At the four gates are those who subdue, abiding with a host of consorts. Vajra wheel, jewel, lotus, sword, and bell, Utpala, Nāga tree, and other emblems, beautiful and pleasing offerings they hold. Blue, white, yellow, and reddish-brown, green and other various colors, soft, slender, graceful, and youthful in form, bright, radiant, magnificent, and majestic, a great host radiating light, encircled by blazing garlands, boundless and pervasive, the inconceivable mandala spontaneously accomplished." Thus, the objects to be purified, the aggregates, elements, and sense bases, manifest as the essence of deities, the impure and conceptual thoughts are transformed into the deity's form. From the base syllable A, forty-two letters arise, each seated upon its own seat, with Ṭha and Tha in the center. In the east of the four cardinal points, Ṭa and Ta. In the south, Ḍa and Da. In the west, Ṇa and Dha. In the north, Ṇa and Na. On the southeast seat of the corner ribs, Ka and Ca. In the southwest,
