May it be established in... Thus dedicate and pray, and in between sessions, it is also important to strive with the pride of the deity, the six-syllable mantra, and dharanis. For the two, preliminary and main practices, the extensive dedication and aspiration at the end of the third session, including the subsequent ritual, is: Great Compassionate One, supreme among the two-legged, etc. May much benefit be done for sentient beings. Then the auspicious verses are: Day is auspicious, night is auspicious, noon is also auspicious, day and night are always auspicious, strive here in the presence of the Three Jewels. Strive in the presence of the glorious Lama, strive in the presence of the Yidam deity, protect the Dharma protectors, protect the local deities, whatever beings remain here, whether dwelling on the earth or in the sky, may they always be loving to beings, and may they practice the Dharma day and night. Here, by the truth of the Victorious One, the Conqueror of Enemies, whatever is spoken is truly without falsehood, by that truth, may there be auspiciousness, may all of them be liberated from great fear. Etc., should be adorned at the end. Also, at the end of the subsequent ritual, after the self-bath, if the mandala is painted on cloth, then the support should be established with "Here, together with the form," etc. If it is a powder mandala, then recite "Om, you are for the benefit of all sentient beings," etc., invite the wisdom being to descend, and dissolve the commitment being into oneself. Generally, the method of reciting the ritual and practicing is: If only one fasting is done, there are three rituals for the preliminary practice on the first day. First, at dawn, when the lines of the hand can be seen, perform the five-branch bath and take the vows of purification. Then drink tea. Then, from taking refuge to the condensed dedication and aspiration, is completed. At noon, it is necessary to have lunch with food that is not meat, alcohol, garlic, radish, beans, etc., and then take a bath. Tea may be drunk during the session breaks. From entering the session to the session break, avoid drinking. Do not interrupt the continuity of the ritual and the dharani. The second session does not require taking the vows of purification. From taking refuge to the condensed dedication and aspiration, it is the same as before. The third session is the same as the second session, except for the extensive dedication and aspiration, and the recitation of auspicious verses. Before going to sleep, visualize oneself as the Great Compassionate One, dissolving into light and merging into the hrīḥ (藏文:ཧྲཱིཿ,梵文天城体:ह्रीः,梵文罗马拟音:hrīḥ,汉语字面意思:啥) at the heart. The hrīḥ also dissolves into light, and from the state of emptiness of self-nature, enter into meditative sleep. If this is not possible, then pray to the deity and the Lama.

Because of repeatedly falling asleep in a dazed state, there is a special necessity. On the second day, during the main practice, also like the previous night after going to sleep, maintain silence, not speaking until getting up. From taking the five vows of purification, the way of practicing all three sessions is the same as the previous day. Not taking even a tiny bit of food or drink, and not drinking water from the bottle, maintaining silence, these are the special points. The third day is the concluding ritual. When one can see the lines on the hand, first, for the benefit of the microorganisms in the body, give them some thin porridge, and then break the silence. After that, there is no need to take the vows of purification. After going through from refuge and bodhicitta to the concise dedication and aspiration, at the end of the appropriate dwelling prayer or farewell prayer below, the extensive dedication and aspiration of the two-legged Great Compassionate One, and auspicious prayers, should be recited. Also, if doing many fasting practices at one time, then after accomplishing either the preliminary or the main practice, one concluding ritual is sufficient. In the concluding ritual, the number of dharanis should not be less than before, and the praises can be recited seven times, etc., according to the occasion. Because this is outer mantra, one must guard even the subtle actions of body and speech, and if one speaks during the preliminary, main, or concluding sessions, or is interrupted by sleep, etc., or if the number of dharanis is not completed, and one goes to other places, then immediately wash both hands and sit uncleanly. Bring both hands inside the knees. Pour clean water into the palm of the left hand, take it with the fingers of the right hand, and wash the mouth many times. Then touch the mouth, nose, eyes, ears, hands, abdomen, and head, and after making a near touch facing east, start reciting again from the beginning of the count, etc., and without making mistakes, if one practices properly, one will accomplish the common and supreme desires. The method of approaching the noble Avalokiteśvara, guided by altruistic intention. May the virtue of this effort, and all the virtue accumulated by myself and others in the three times, be gathered together, and dedicated for the sake of all beings as vast as space attaining permanent happiness. May the harm of demonic forces and all signs of decline be naturally pacified. May the auspiciousness of life, glory, dharma, and the livelihood of liberation protect all beings. This is the meditation ritual of the noble Avalokiteśvara, the Great Compassionate One, written by a wise one.
