An Explanation of the Meaning, Core Principles, and General Outline of the Kagyü Gurtso - A Rest for the Fortunate Mind. An Explanation of the Meaning, Core Principles, and General Outline of the Kagyü Gurtso - A Rest for the Fortunate Mind. Thus concludes An Explanation of the Meaning, Core Principles, and General Outline of the Kagyü Gurtso - A Rest for the Fortunate Mind. May there be auspiciousness and well-being! Homage to the supreme Kagyü, which gathers the wisdom of all Buddhas, the lord of speech in the ocean of realms, with boundless transformations of melodious branches, and completely governs the Dharma wheel. Through the intense force of diligent practice, attaining supreme realization, the lord of all accomplished ones, I prostrate to Laughing Vajra. Here, on this great land of Tibet, whichever path one enters, one will undoubtedly enter the immeasurable palace of unsurpassed enlightenment. The profound instructions of Vajrayana are spread out and taught plainly. Therefore, the glorious one who holds the essential teachings, which expand like an undiminished ocean, is unparalleled. This is the precious Kagyü lineage of Marpa, whose fame spreads throughout the three realms like a great drum. They crush all artificial bonds like a herd of elephants trampling a reed forest. They point out the great path from which all Buddhas have attained enlightenment. All disciples belonging to the lineage cast the dust of the eight worldly concerns to the wind, becoming like sons of the mountains, wearing robes of mist, disregarding the three things of food, clothing, and talk. They cut off the busyness of the body, the frivolity of speech, and the conceptual thoughts of the mind, perfectly severing all ties. They sit on a single seat, staying as firmly as a stake driven into the ground. By placing the nectar of the guru's instructions in their hearts, they effortlessly break free from the insurmountable prison of samsara, and without dispute, they go to the state known as the union of Vajra. Accomplished ones, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, have appeared in the past, will appear in the future, and are clearly appearing in the present. Therefore, those accomplished Chakravartins of the past manifested the experience of the wisdom vow of uniting E-Vam (Tibetan: ཨེ་ཝཾ། Sanskrit Devanagari: एवं, Sanskrit Romanization: evaṃ, Literal Meaning: Thus) and the Vajra songs.
