This is the Earth-Bird year (). The sun's disc blazes with light, but those without eyes cannot see it. It is said that the essence of the self-born Buddhas, which is naturally accomplished from the beginning and not created by conditions, is the ultimate meaning. Although all sentient beings possess it, ordinary beings, Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and newly entered Bodhisattvas rely on trustworthy teachings to believe and admire it. Through belief alone, they can understand it in a general way, but they do not directly see and realize it as it is. For example, although the sun's disc blazes with light, those without eyes cannot see it. Fifth, the essence itself is shown in two parts: the nature and the principle of emptiness and non-emptiness. The first is: "In this, there is nothing to be removed, nothing to be established. Look at reality with reality, and seeing reality, one is liberated." It is said that for this essence of the self-nature pure realm, the Sugata-garbha, there is no fault of afflictions to be removed as an inherent impurity of the realm, because its nature is to be free from all adventitious impurities from the beginning. Similarly, there is nothing to be established as a previously non-existent quality of complete purification, because the qualities of ultimate reality, such as strength, are naturally accomplished from the beginning, and the undifferentiated Dharma-nature is its nature. Thus, the true Dharmadhatu, the Suchness that is free from the two extremes, is directly seen and meditated upon by the wisdom of ultimate reality, the object-possessor. From the extreme increase of familiarity, the wisdom that directly sees the meaning of the true Dharma-nature gradually arises, and liberation is attained from the removable adventitious impurities. That is, in the Path of Seeing, liberation from the impurities to be abandoned by seeing; in the Path of Meditation, liberation from the impurities to be abandoned by meditation; and in the Ultimate Path, complete liberation from all two obscurations along with their habitual tendencies. Secondly: "The characteristic of having distinctions is that the realm of adventitious defilements is empty. The characteristic of having no distinctions is that the unsurpassed Dharma is not empty." It is said that the reality of the mind, free from removal and establishment, is free from extremes, because the realm and

It is distinction, characterized by separability, and because that realm is empty of temporary defilements, it is free from the extreme of existence. That realm and distinction are characterized by inseparability, and because that realm is not empty of the qualities of unsurpassed virtues, such as powers, it is free from the extreme of non-existence. Because they are mutually contradictory, it is also liberated from the extreme of being both existent and non-existent. Precisely because of this, it is also liberated from the extreme of negating it as non-dual, so this emptiness that is liberated from the two extremes or the four extremes is the undeluded true nature. The fourth root chapter, explaining the necessity of the realm, is divided into two parts: briefly explaining the question and answer, and explaining its meaning in detail. The first part is divided into two parts: the question and the answer. The first part is: Like clouds, dreams, and illusions, here and there, all knowable things are empty in every way. Having said that, why do the Buddhas say here again to sentient beings that there is the Tathagatagarbha? So it is said. In the connecting passage of the commentary, it says: If that is the case, then the realm that is not even the object of the noble ones who abide on the ultimate ground of non-attachment and is difficult to see, then what is the use of teaching this realm starting from ordinary people? This is the question raised from within. The question in the text is: For example, like clouds, dreams, and illusions that appear but are not true and have no self-nature. In the intermediate sutras, the sutras that teach non-characteristics, such as the extensive, medium, and concise Prajnaparamita Sutras, here and there, all knowable things, from form to omniscience, although they appear, are all empty and without self-nature. Having said this extensively, again in the final sutras, the definitive teachings, such as the Tathagatagarbha Sutra and many others, here, the Buddhas, the perfectly enlightened ones who speak the truth, say to all sentient beings that there is the Tathagatagarbha, the Dharmadhatu, which is naturally pure and luminous, and spontaneously accomplished from the beginning, why do they say that? Is it not contradictory to say earlier and later? The second part is: In order to eliminate cowardice, contempt for inferior sentient beings, and holding wrong views, slandering the right Dharma, we have these five faults.
