A commentary on the meaning of the Uttaratantra, a treatise on the essence of the Great Vehicle, combined with the explanation of the path of direct perception, called "The Irreversible Lion's Roar." A commentary on the Uttaratantra of the Great Vehicle, combined with the infallible and excellent system, called "The Irreversible Lion's Roar." I respectfully prostrate to the lotus feet of the glorious Lama Jampa Gon, the Lord of Compassion. With the wisdom that knows how it is and how many there are, without attachment, obstruction, or impurity, having crossed to the other shore of the ocean of Dharma, and residing in the place of the fearless regent, the three secrets are like a young moon, beautiful among the hundreds of deities and stars of the noble assembly, and I pay homage and make offerings to the inseparable Jampa Gon Lama with clouds of offerings like the ocean. From the mouth of the lord of the ten bhumis comes the nectar of the sacred Dharma, filling the mindstream, I pay homage to the two brothers, Asanga and Vasubandhu, and to those who uphold the infallible tradition. Maitripa, the lord who reveals the hidden, and the two Gzu-tsan who hold the oral instructions, and the great chariot of ultimate accomplishment of this meaning, are highly praised in the golden garland of the Dagpo lineage. Among the knowledgeable, the Omniscient One is truly present. Among the upholders of the teachings, the unparalleled lord of the teachings, may the self-born Gyalwa of the snowy land, and the sun of the teachings, play in the lotus lake of my heart. The essence with defilements is all-pervasive like space, but when adventitious defilements are removed, qualities become manifest. Always performing the actions of the Buddhas, I pay homage to the nature of all samsara and nirvana. The ultimate meaning of the Victorious One's intention, the treatise well explained by the Regent Maitreya. Although the method of explanation based on inference and reasoning is well-known, the path of direct perception is the way to Buddhahood. It cannot be contained by the minds of inferior logicians. This is the special characteristic of the Arrow-shooting (藏文:མདའ་བསྣུན།) father and son lineage. By the supreme chariots of the definitive meaning of the essence.

It should be distinguished according to the meaning of what is truly spoken. Among all the well-spoken teachings of the perfectly complete Buddha, the all-knowing Shakya lord, the most supreme of the great vehicle's collections, the pinnacle or apex, the commentary on the meaning that reveals the heart essence of the irreversible lion's roar. To explain this king of all treatises, there are two parts: first, when explaining the text, a summary of the general meaning that provides a definite position; second, a detailed explanation of the words and meaning of the actual text. The first part has eight points: identifying the nature of what is to be explained; the source upon which it relies; the teacher who composed it; the order of the lineage from which it was transmitted; what is the meaning to be explained; how to explain it; the meaning of the summary of the beginning and end; and the explanation of the necessary connection of such an explanation. The first point is: In general, the wisdom of the Dharmadhatu, which is non-dual and pervades all, is the nature of the lineage; it is the nature of the Dharmakaya, possessing two purities, having abandoned the two obscurations of suddenness; the method of obtaining it is the view that is free from all elaboration and the meditation that is non-conceptual, which is the nature of the path; these three are the teachings well-spoken by the perfectly complete Buddha, which are the supreme or sacred texts. If one examines that text in detail, there are three: The first is the ultimate truth of the speech form of the Mahayana Sutra collection, which is among all the forms in which the self-appearing voice of the Buddha, the non-dual wisdom itself, appears. This is the same in essence as the self-nature pure or separation-fruit Dharmakaya. The second is the Mahayana Sutra collection possessed by the collection of nouns, phrases, and letters that appear in the minds of noble ones and ordinary beings as the general form of sound. The third is the sound words spoken in accordance with it, which are called the definitive meaning Sutras and Tantras of the Great Vehicle text. These last two, although their essence is very different from the three of self-nature, fruit, and path, are born from the aspirations of the Buddhas, are the common cause of the Dharmakaya, and have the power to abandon the two obscurations. Therefore, it should be understood that they belong to the realm of uncontaminated Dharma, pure objects, and perfect accomplishment. Such a collection of Great Vehicle texts, whether they are the words of the Buddha or treatises, both exist.
