It is like saying to someone who wants gold, "In this pile of garbage, there is the best gold ore. Clean the dirt and make ornaments with jewels, etc." Secondly, "Likewise, the Able One sees beings sunk in the impurity-like afflictions, yet possessing the essence of virtue. To purify the mud of afflictions, He pours down the rain of the sacred Dharma upon all beings." Thus, the perfectly enlightened Great Able One also sees that beings, sunk in the mud of afflictions like impurity, possess the essence of virtue, the heart of bliss. To purify that mud of afflictions, He pours down a great rain of the sacred Dharma upon all beings. Thirdly, "Like gold fallen in a pile of garbage, seen by the gods who diligently show it to humans, to purify and cleanse it, so do the Buddhas see beings in afflictions, also possessing the treasure of the Tathagata. To purify them, they teach the Dharma to sentient beings." It is said, for example, that when gods see gold fallen in a pile of garbage, they show the extremely beautiful gold to humans and have them remove the impurities in order to purify it. Similarly, the all-knowing Buddhas see the essence of the complete Buddha, the Tathagatagarbha, fallen into the great impurity of afflictions. Since all beings possess the Tathagatagarbha, in order to purify that essence, they teach the Dharma appropriate to the capacity of sentient beings. The fifth analogy has three aspects: the analogy, the meaning, and the combined explanation. First, "Like a poor person's house, under the ground, there is an inexhaustible treasure, but that person does not know this treasure, nor does the treasure say, 'I am here.'" It is said that, for example, in the house of a poor person, under the ground, there is a great inexhaustible treasure, but that person does not know that there is a treasure, and the treasure does not say to that person, "I am here." Therefore, that person must endure the suffering of poverty. Second,

Like a treasure trove hidden within the mind, the stainless essence and the indestructible nature of reality, because they are not realized, the suffering of poverty is constantly experienced by beings. Thus it is said. Similarly, the precious treasure of the blissful essence hidden within the minds of all sentient beings is naturally stainless, possessing unprecedented qualities, and the nature of reality that cannot be abandoned or destroyed. Because it is not realized, the suffering of samsara, the poverty of wealth in which qualities manifest, is constantly experienced by all beings. Third, like a treasure hidden in the house of the poor, no one says they have a treasure, because people do not recognize the treasure. Likewise, sentient beings are like the poor, with the treasure of Dharma residing in the house of their minds. In order for them to obtain this treasure, righteous ones are born in the world. Thus it is said. For example, in the house of a poor person, under the ground, there is a treasure trove of precious jewels. That treasure does not say, "I am here," and that poor person does not know there is a treasure, so they cannot escape the suffering of poverty. Similarly, although the treasure of the Dharmakaya resides in the house of one's own mind, sentient beings who do not realize it are like the poor. In order for them to realize the treasure of the Dharmakaya that resides within them, the great sage, the Buddha, the Bhagavan, is truly born in limitless realms of the world and teaches the sacred Dharma. The meaning of the examples is threefold: example, meaning, and combined explanation. First, like mangoes and other tree fruits, there is a seed with an indestructible nature of sprouting. With cultivated land, water, etc., the king of trees gradually comes into being. Thus it is said. For example, the fruits of trees such as mangoes and banyan trees, although hidden inside the skin, have the ability to produce trees. The seed of the tree has the nature of not being destroyed by obstacles. The condition is that the fertile soil is cultivated, and water, fertilizer, temperature, etc. are gathered, so that the tree
