108 108 Furthermore, when Lord Gampopa said that it is gradual there, it is an acknowledgment that he has attained mastery over the inconceivable magical display of the Buddha's manifestations. Also, when asked of the precious Lama: Is this Dzogchen a sacred Dharma? Lama Marpa replied: It is not a sacred Dharma. It is not a sacred Dharma, but it is a Dharma for the sixth and seventh bhumis and above. It is like a five-year-old child saying he is a twenty-five-year-old man. Similarly, the current Dzogchen practitioners who say that all ordinary people are Kuntuzangpo are like that, not in accordance with the meaning. The meaning of what he said is: Some say that this Dharma of the Great Perfection is a practice that enables the most superior individuals to attain enlightenment instantly, surpassing the powers of Mahamudra and the eight vehicles. Other Dharmas lead to enlightenment through the accumulation and purification of abandoning evil and practicing virtue. However, here, it is said that one attains enlightenment through the accumulation and purification of reversing fire and water, practicing evil, and abandoning virtue. In response to this, Dzogchen is a pure practice that is empowered by the stages of the Sutra and Tantra paths. There, all Dharmas are understood as equal in samsara and nirvana, and it is determined that there is no virtue to be practiced or evil to be abandoned. Because all Dharmas are naturally pure and equally taught as something to be practiced, the practice and the Dharma are in harmony. Therefore, it is not a Dharma specifically for the practice of those of the sudden enlightenment type, such as the sixth and seventh bhumis and above. Because the tradition of Dzogchen teachings appears as a Dharma of gradual guidance, it is well explained. Also, when asked: If one realizes the mind of ultimate bodhicitta, is it necessary to meditate on relative bodhicitta? He replied: When meditating on relative bodhicitta, there are three ways it arises: from past habituation, from practice in this life, and from the realization of ultimate bodhicitta. When ultimate bodhicitta is realized, love, compassion, and the mind of bodhicitta will increase more and more for sentient beings who have not realized it in this way. There is no need to separately meditate on relative bodhicitta. When ultimate bodhicitta is realized, relative bodhicitta naturally arises.

is the fruit. Having realized the essence, if one does not strive for the virtue led by love, compassion, and bodhicitta, then the essence is not born. It is just as Lama Mila said. The meaning of what was said is: If one truly realizes the essence, then compassion cannot be suppressed for those who have not realized it in this way, so the effort to accomplish the profound, vast, and infinite qualities of the Buddha increases. In order to accomplish the benefit of sentient beings, with the eye of skillful means and clairvoyance, exhaustion and subjugation, liberation, etc., it is impossible not to arise freely with even a moment's attention to samadhi and wisdom. This is what is intended. Also, when asked, "When you are sick, do you feel uncomfortable?" He replied, "Even when I am sick, my mind is not uncomfortable and there is no harm. When I meditate on luminosity in the painful area, the luminosity shines brightly and there is no harm. If mantras are recited for people with infectious diseases, it is beneficial to focus on the painful area and meditate." The meaning of what was said is: Lord Gampopa is considered to be the tenth-bhumi bodhisattva Moonlight Youth. Even on the tenth bhumi, there is suffering such as illness from the residue of karma, as Jowo Rinpoche said. Even the Buddha experiences the residue of the fruits of past negative karma, and this is made into the activity of the Buddha for the sake of those to be tamed. The lord of the tenth bhumi also manifests such activity, which is established as the nature of dependent arising of inconceivable karma. Even so, although there is suffering like illness from the feeling of a part of the body, the more this feeling is experienced, the more happiness increases, and one enjoys a life free from all illness as one pleases. This is the dependent arising of the blessing of obtaining the realization of ordinary consciousness. Although such dependent arising exists without deception, in order to tame the impure beings to be tamed, in the activity of taming, the imprints of past negative karma, the image of the fruits of negative karma, appear before those to be tamed, and it also shows that the dependent arising of cause and effect exists without deception. Although these two seem contradictory, they are not contradictory. The lord of the three realms, Jowo Rinpoche, said: The nature or characteristics of the cause and effect of virtue and non-virtue
