So, how can one realize the nature of one's own inherent, luminous essence of Buddhahood, and the nature of ordinary consciousness? To explain this, I will extract the essence from the answers given by Gampopa to the questions posed by Gandarwa, and elaborate on it: The awareness that arises from ordinary consciousness is neither the outwardly directed other-consciousness that grasps at subject and object, nor the inwardly directed consciousness that is either clear or unclear, which does not grasp at subject and object. It is also not the self-awareness that arises merely as an experience. Rather, it is an inconceivable, self-existent awareness that cannot be categorized as either self or other, and is beyond words. Even so, it is not entirely devoid of experience and awareness. So, what is this awareness, this state of emptiness, like? When we rest in the nature of consciousness, we experience the state of our own mind being primordially empty and clear. However, this emptiness is not the emptiness of clinging to the notion that "emptiness cannot be grasped in the mind." Rather, it is an emptiness that cannot be touched by mind or object, and cannot be shaken by conceptual elaboration. Such a quality of awareness and the emptiness free from conceptual elaboration arise simultaneously. If they manifest, they manifest together; if they disappear, they disappear together. When it manifests, this state that has always been present is called wisdom. When it manifests in this way, even if discursive thoughts stir ordinary consciousness, it is like the sun rising in a clear sky; even if a gentle breeze blows, the sun's radiance does not diminish. Even when post-meditation discursive thoughts accompany the state of meditative absorption, these thoughts do not accumulate the karma of conceptual elaboration and obscuration. Instead, they allow the mind to become an adornment of the Dharmakaya, so that meditative absorption and post-meditation become integrated as one. When self-existent awareness and emptiness free from conceptual elaboration arise simultaneously and manifest, the wind of wisdom also manifests. Because the wind of wisdom is unwavering, there is no interruption between such a quality of awareness and the nature of emptiness, and the co-emergent wisdom. When it is absent, the karmic winds naturally subside, and the karmic winds cannot shake it. Therefore, relying on it

When the knowledge of one's own awareness and the awareness of others cannot give rise to elaborations and fabrications, one becomes a Buddha by pacifying into the expanse without any object of focus. At that time, only the wind of wisdom moves, and because the wind of wisdom is without movement, it is continuous and uninterrupted. Relying on that, the mind of the dharmakāya of luminosity, free from elaborations, also transcends both permanence and cessation. When it becomes like that, the door is never closed at all times, and not fixating on the characteristics of arising and ceasing, that is the dharmakāya. At that time, the two form bodies effortlessly arise in one's own continuum, and the part that appears in the continuum of others is never interrupted. Therefore, when the source and hole of where the knowledge of one's own awareness and the awareness of others comes from and where it goes to are blocked, thinking that this is the beginning and end of samsara is said to be unerring. If one realizes the nature of such ordinary knowledge, even if one has not had the time to cultivate stable and long-lasting meditation that cherishes the nature in dreams and so on, in the bardo state, knowledge will be a hundred times clearer than it is now, because the mind does not rely on the coarse body of flesh and blood like earth and stone. At that time, the nature of ordinary knowledge will also appear in that clear knowledge of the bardo, and when one takes the body and mind of any of the six realms, the karmic and afflictive mind of the bardo, and all the truths of cause and effect that are thus accomplished, will naturally liberate like illusions, and at that time, all the streams of cause and effect of samsara will naturally reverse. It is said. So, does merely meditating on the nature extinguish karmic winds? If one thinks that the practice of meditating on karmic winds that does not strike the essential point is meaningless, it is not so. By binding the movement of the winds at the place of the sense faculties of the six entering consciousnesses, the wind enters upwards from the lower end of the central channel. The heat of the fire of the spontaneously arising wisdom of tummo below the navel burns the three: fire, heat, and mind, and by burning all the karmic imprints of samsara abiding in the ālaya-vijñāna within the central channel, the realization that one's own mind is the essence of the luminous Buddha is nakedly realized, and that realization increases, and the nature becomes greatly accomplished. Therefore, for that essential point, the guru Milarepa emphasized meditating on tummo alone. It is said. Without meditation on the realization of the nature, there is no way to completely extinguish the karmic winds from the root, and the wind and
