Because there is too much attachment to pleasure, not being swayed by such thoughts is said to be the lifeblood of the (right) path. If one is attached to the comforts and wealth of this life, which are like food mixed with poison, rather than aspiring for the benefit of the next life, one will lose eternal happiness. Although there is no reason to be attached to it, due to the delusion of mistaking the suffering of samsara for happiness since beginningless time, one does not sever the hope for eternal happiness, and becomes attached to the pleasures of samsara such as the desires of this life. In order to merely provide favorable conditions for the desires of this life, one seeks the protection of kings and patrons, living on their favor, and in order to promote the prosperity of parents, relatives, and attendants, one wastes one's short life in distraction, and abandons long-term plans made in advance for the sake of support in old age, considering them unimportant, thereby engaging in great non-virtuous deeds and so on. Therefore, sever the connection with the basis of all sins, which is the abode of happiness in this life, such as food, clothing, shelter, land, houses, etc., and the parents, relatives, kings, monks, and worldly friends who provide these things. One should be content with just enough food and clothing to sustain one's body, with meager alms. Because there is no pleasure of samsaric desires that has not been experienced since beginningless time, even if one has experienced it, one is not satisfied, and in addition to not achieving happiness in this life and eternal happiness, experiencing endless suffering in samsara is caused solely by the act of being attached to the pleasure of desires. Therefore, the pleasure of desirable qualities is a hundred million times more painful than the fires of hell, and is the ultimate basis of suffering, so cherishing the pleasure of desires in one's heart is like countless hordes of evil demons entering one's heart, becoming more insane than madness. Therefore, if one thinks that the comforts, wealth, and fame of this life can benefit oneself and others, then without discernment or reflection, one engages in activities to pursue the happiness and fame of this life, such as developing existing religious and worldly affairs or establishing new ones from scratch, such as the basis of benefit and happiness, territory, land, houses, property, monks, students, residences, temples, and groups for study, contemplation, and meditation. Although it may seem like a temporary refuge and self-satisfaction, in reality it will bring suffering and displeasure in both the short and long term. And, in order to achieve these, one strives without regard for sin, suffering, and harsh words, no matter how much.

Therefore, for the increasing weariness, which is the fetter on the path to manifest higher realms and definite goodness due to negative karma, it is imperative to forcefully sever it. That is, transforming the minds of others through teachings and listening, and regarding merit, if one's own mind becomes better, one should not strive excessively to combine teachings, practice, and other virtues for the sake of one's own reputation, etc. There is no need to accomplish language sanghas and monasteries, etc., which are impossible to complete, with much effort. All those to be tamed who are connected to oneself will naturally and forcefully enter into the activities of hearing, thinking, and meditating. If one is not liberated from the practice of manifest higher realms and definite goodness, then those who are connected to oneself, gathered together, and supported by worldly and spiritual means, will have no choice but to accomplish the root of virtue. Therefore, this is established as protecting the sangha according to the Dharma. For those who have the fortune not to be obstructed by demonic obstacles in accomplishing such activities, they are established as the sangha. If such a sangha possessing qualities exists, then its livelihood is accomplished by Indra and other gods, as well as the world. Therefore, there is no need to give to kings, etc., in order to obtain one's own cultivation, business, profit, loans, entertainment, and offerings to the Three Jewels, gains, and respect. There is no need to accomplish the sangha's livelihood through negative karma, such as chasing after gains and measuring what is obtained. Furthermore, having abandoned such wrong livelihood, the sangha that lives by pure livelihood is the field of offering. The supports of the Three Jewels and monasteries, etc., are also made of immeasurable human and divine jewels by Brahma and others who have obtained irreversible faith in the Three Jewels, and then donated for the sake of the sangha's virtue and merit, such as the Jowo statue in Lhasa. Such a support of the Three Jewels is made of many meritorious deeds and again becomes the basis of immeasurable merit. Therefore, even if the wisdom blessings of all the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and disciples are offered to this support, it seems insignificant. Therefore, the activities of this support are more extensive than other supports. Furthermore, such a sangha, as a field of offering, merely gathering the cause of the Buddha's blessings, will effortlessly and naturally
